Still feeling clammy and groggy today. Proper duvet day albeit downstairs. The constant fireworks last night were very sensory overloading for me, DD and the cat which refused to go out yesterday at all. I got us a TGTG carvery but it was very disappointing - it wasn't from my fave carvery. Just driving there felt a stretch so didn't want to drive further. Had heating on most of today with leccy blanket on low. I will ask the handyman to bleed the radiators. He is due in the next few weeks. The boiler service is due mid December anyway - so worst case just bringing it forward a month.
DD cooked me a lovely roast dinner which was a first. Very tasty.
Fell into 'escape to...' videos on utube followed by a RM session! Upshot is the same as I already know. There are affordable places I could move to in beautiful locations if I had the energy to finish decluttering the house and stage it appropriately for sale and if DD was sorted elsewhere. I want to live in relatively remote places which is possible as I mainly WFH but wouldn't work for her... IF DD got p1p and was then more able to fly the nest - then it could become a realistic option.
I recently found my mortgage offer and while I originally had it in my head that ERCs began at 10% and dropped 2% a year - it's not true - they start at 5 and drop 1% a year. That could make moving and downsizing more affordable than I thought - if I could port the mortgage. If I can't port the mortgage there would be no point moving.
I like my job and the people I work with - I would just love to feel less exhausted all the time. Part of that is poor diet and lack of exercise - but part of that is also that I feel so wiped from work I have little energy left for anything else. I am very lucky to have a supportive boss though...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hopefully it is just the radiators needing bleeding - that's a dead easy job, I can do that even though I don't have central heating at home, the ones in the office need doing fairly often though so I'm a dab hand at it now!
If you have several days left of AL over what you need for stuff you have booked then it makes sense just to make your life easier right now and use one to cover your time - or compromise with using a half day and take the other half as an early finish to the week, maybe? I had a feeling you bought extsa AL days to make your life less stressful, if so it makes sense to ensure you use them when it WILL make life less stressful doesn't it! I've got 3.5 days left to take - thankfully I don't have to worry about christmas days as our office just closes completely, I want to carry two over to next year but will likely use the 1.5 to take when things get a bit overwhelming/stressy when I have lots going on.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi MF - unfortunately my leave year runs to end of March - so less surplus leave than you might think.
I've finished early / taken a break. Really sore throat again today - despite 3 ice creams. Did another test but still showing clear. Body battery is showing as low which matches how I feel and resting heart rate is higher than normal. Tempted to buy some greasy chips... Will see if DD will go for me...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hope you feel better soon. Good news about the mortgage ERC being less than expected."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee2

Thanks Jwil - I have a raised temperature - new thermometer arrived and confirmed.
DD went out and bought me pie and chips. Had some fizzy drink to soothe my throat but still painful. Need to buy more ice cream I think and perhaps some crisps...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Work is stressful. Way too many variables that often obscure the satisfying stuff.
