Some useful finds this week while decluttering / organising - include 3 new activity books I can add to the present pile for my little niece/nephews. Some soft new PJ bottoms that I lost almost as soon as I'd bought them months ago - so that felt like a real gift. A velour hoodie that is barely worn and is soft and perfect for stroking / self soothing. Missing socks where I had been considering ordering some new ones. I'm a long way from organised when it comes to my home... but any improvement is a win. Best of all my cleaner is coming tomorrow and will move my house onto a different level - for a while at least!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

So I've made my first official mortgage payment. Only another 263 to go! I estimate I've now cleared £641 in total off the mortgage principal so am now at £201358. The £50 I sent across to my pension the other day is now showing in my account as well with the tax relief.
The engineer has just shown up wonder what that means for my dentist appointment!! He's not got out of his van yet though!
I still can't access online banking for my new account so still need to work out how I'm doing this month's money shuffle. My £ needs to go through 3 other accounts so I keep each one's benefits! I still need to set up a different way of doing my breakdown insurance rather than doing it via my bank account. Then I can switch that account. I may leave the switching a few months to allow my credit score to settle.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I knocked on the van window in the end. He said I could still go to the dentist. I ended up being late though. I am now waiting to go in.
I am supposed to have been in a meeting since 9am so it's going really well.... NotAchieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Congratulations on the first mortgage payment SH - you're on the way! Glad you managed to get the BB engineer to give you the go-ahead to go out as you needed to - hopefully all is well with the dentist as well.
Definitely sit tight for a few months before doing another account shift I'd say - you've had a lot of financial upheavals to show up on your file recently and the full impact of the financial disassociation will take a while to show to help balance things.
I'll be interested to see how Santander go with resolving your issues with the online banking as they've not married up my accounts with the new everyday current either - in spite of me sending in the ID form they asked for.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Congratulations on your first mortgage payment, I moved into my home earlier this year after a relationship breakup and was ridiculously excited to be paying a mortgage in my own name😂 I guess I just feel more in control as ex refused to OP on previous home although we had discussed it prior to buying together and agreed to do so… I had OPed on previous mortgage and it would have been gone by now but it’s all a learning experience eh?Mortgage OP 2025 £6000/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
