I've just use the cost calculator too savingholmes - around £332 per month for us but as we're going into the winter months I guess may be more in reality.  I've had the letter through from our supplier re. the £400 discount taking effect from October for 6 months (£66 a month) so that softens the blow a little.  Not forgetting there's another rise in a few months time though just as the high energy use time begins

My annual utilities will be just over one month's wages, before deductions, not taking into account the CoL payment.
Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.

Your sister must be devastated.  Really hope things get sorted quickly for her.
Your evening out sounds like fun... great to hear that you're socialising and enjoying yourself.  XXX

  • Your poor sister. The uncertainty must be horrible. I hope that things resolve themselves fairly fast for her.

I always find meeting friends of friends nervewracking - glad it went well!

good of you to be on call for your sister - a bank holiday weekend at the end of the summer holidays is not a good time to get anything sorted really quickly
I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine

    Thanks Skint, WD and Mark

It was a beautiful day yesterday. My sis has always helped me when I've moved. Good to return the favour.

I feel like I potentially made a new friend last night which feels good.

    Recent shopping confession time:
DD at Coop for me £1 fudge

    Yesterday

£1.25 McV Dark Choc biccies after 50p off voucher

£1.39100g Decaf coffee as sister had none - tasted fine - left with sis
    £1.35 MnM
£2.98 Dark choc hazelnut £1.49 each x 2 but I gave one away

    Today
    HB
£1.99 Crunchie blast (4 in pack)
    BOB Milk £1.45 each x 2
    Custard 99p

That looks really bad on the goal stopper front... which I'll definitely consider as I tuck into my ice cream :)

However I have batch cooked some more veggie pasta and I had a portion with lettuce, tomatoes and spring onions at lunch.
I've also batch cooked some more chicken, potato, carrots and onion casserole
