Yes, well done! If it were me, once I had started on crumble, custard and ice cream, there would have been no chance! If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

Thanks jwil, GAP and DIA. The cleaner forgot to take the crumble - so I still have 5 portions left. I have run out of instant custard though so will need to use proper custard and therefore milk. Still have some ice cream left.
Went to the counsellor today and realised I was feeling really happy, blessed and excited about getting some help with the house and garden and tackling tasks. My counsellor helped me see that the P1p £ was for improving my wellbeing which is exactly what spending it on these things would give me. Tackling the excess in my house - was also moving me towards my longer term goals of being able to move house (if desired at that point). Otherwise it may make my home and garden such a lovely, tranquil space it feels more like a treat and less like a list of jobs staring at me. If I (get help to) restore the pond it makes my new arbour the perfect location as it would be just a little in front to the right so it would be the perfect place to look at it.
I'm also happy I have plans for my bank holiday weekend. My sis and her family tomorrow if the move goes ahead - looks like there may be a last minute hitch - and catching up with a friend tomorrow night and 2 friends Monday lunch time... For me that is huge. Outside work - I've only seen 3 friends I think in 2 months - so that's a lot in 4 days...
DD and I are going out for a drink now... Wish me luck!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

@savingholmes your arbour looks fab! Just as you say, the PIP is there to make your life easier; you probably thought that the struggle was just life as it was the norm for so long? Full of admiration for you love Humdinger xx3

DD and I had a nice chat. She's very excited as she goes on her holiday abroad with a friend a week today.
I have two sisters with little ones but they are both in the process of moving house. I'll make some gift packs up at some point.Humdinger1 said:@savingholmes your arbour looks fab! There's a last minute hitch with sis's move... so don't know if I need to be leaving to go there in the next half hour or not. I'm having some left over casserole for breakfast as I don't know what food options there will be later.

MSE has a cost calculator now for energy. If it's right - having fixed my elec until next June will save me around £400 (before future rises).
I'm still due to have an overall annual bill of £3.1K though... That splits roughly £2K gas and £1.1K elec. Just have to hope I can drive my gas use down.
I'm going to my sis's house regardless and will help entertain and distract the kids. Apparently an old mortgage hasn't been cleared off properly and no-one knows how much it's for or if it is still live. So not sure how that's going to go...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
