Prosperous soul embraces creativity & mortgage neutrality

Thanks jwil and Beanie - just checked my savings - and I have 25p interest already. Made me smile. I've moved £10 to my reward account for losing weight. I never made it back to doing work so think will need to start early tomorrow to catch up. At this rate I could end up working part of Friday just to re-balance my hours which wouldn't be good on one hand but would relieve pressure. Will see. I am behind on at least 2 pieces of work so need to get my focus back!
I've looked at the details of the new pay offer and it includes an extra day's holiday in a year's time - which for me is really valuable. Just need them to accept and pay it now. It will be backdated to April 22 - so should get a lump sum at some point which will help. My a/l purchase deductions start from October. I'm starting to hope the AVCs don't come out for the next couple of months as depending on what work needs doing on my house I may have been over-ambitious. I can adjust it if I need to though - so I think I'm over-worrying. It also depends how quick we get the pay rise and what further help the gov will offer re energy.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well done, the weightloss is fantastic and you should be proud.
Prioritise the main rooms for warmth and start ticking things off, even if it's not the right colour, but is the right price.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.3 -
That weight loss is so brilliant, well done! I guess its like moneysaving, the more you focus, then the quicker you guide yourself back to the right path after overspending (or eating lots of rich food) and start the next day with a clean slate.
None of us does anything immediately - its all about not letting oneself go too off course.
I have lots of reflective time and posts at present as its the summer it always make remember past summers and what changes are now.
Your goals look acheivable and great - the getting yourself in credit for the winter bills is a great one, you have made me realise I need to up my utility budget more now.DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

good luck with the work. if your energy levels can stand it, I always prefer a late night to an early morning. do what DIA (aka Mark Twain) quoted
* If you have one frog just start eating it now
* if you have two frogs - choose the biggest and do that!!I think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine3 -

Taking a late lunch break...
Thanks MF - I've compromised on what I bought in the past - so now would rather not buy anything than buy something I didn't truly like.
@LadyWithAPlan Glad my musings on energy helped. Your diary made me realise I wasn't expressing enough gratitude for the little wins along the way. I've had 49p from the C00p this week in cash off my bill as well as YS items so it all helps.
Thanks @greent I don't think it's automatic for SW - I need to ring up and ask. That might be Friday's job as I'm off then.
@mark55man and @lucielle Thanks - clear deadlines help too. I got most of what my boss wanted done ahead of our meeting so she was happy enough. I am behind on something but she says I'm working on the priority thing. I need to add some notes to some stuff I've prepared so someone else can present it... I've been asked to go in work tomorrow and meet my boss again and go through it all - which should help me motivate myself to get it done!
Thanks @Orangetoes - I'm making progress and heading in the right direction. I need to chase the handyperson as he hasn't confirmed he's coming.
I broke the news to a family member I wasn't going to visit this weekend. I'm planning to focus on my needs instead so that went down well... Happy for me though. I really want to make it to a beach this weekend. Hope the weather is kind.
In even better news my cleaner did 4 hours today (without my help) and has made my lounge and kitchen look respectable again. Very happy day. Before everything was just nagging at me. Where surplus - she's boxed things for now - so they still need sorting but at least they're not sprouting like triffids all over the show.
Best get back to work now.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

That's great weight loss.
funnily enough I was going to ask about your extra annual purchase and by the time I caught up with your diary you mentioned it. I've done it for a couple of years now and it's so worthwhile. It's a rare occasion when money can buy time.2
