Hi El, Dancing and @Merlins_Beard
I was listening to some on finding peace - and imagining a different future for yourself outside social norms... not sure how I feel about the latter.
M Beck
She says when the caterpillar is 'fed up' it then forms its chrysalis - and then becomes goop - and the goop has imago cells that hold the image of the butterfly and they rearrange themselves to then become the butterfly that then fights its way out to a new future.
She says the whole of life is transition - and that when we are going through transition we should follow our curiosity without expecting any payback and it will lead us where we need to go.
The times when we feel worst is when we are formless goop - but that's when we are closest to our new form so we shouldn't fear it...
A few weeks ago I watched this and it really moved me - and continues to do sohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZJvBfoHDk0
She says "You can't wait until life isn't hard any more before you decide to be happy... We are so much more than the bad things that happen to us."

Thanks Beanie and @Humdinger1
Lost 1 pound at SW last night. Not bad given I'd been eating cake and ice cream over the weekend! Need to do better. Not sure if yesterday was the 12th week. I know SW send a report to the health people. - Need to see if I can get a second lot paid for me otherwise I'll have to pay £60 for 12 weeks next time. Lost 15lb so far - despite not being fully on plan.
Slept badly last night due to paint fumes - so need to make sure I leave the windows open again today. I still have more painting to do but will leave that until the weekend. It is all looking so much better though. Trying to pace myself as I normally start multiple projects at once and then don't complete any!!! Trying to learn!!
Someone is jackhammering near by - so I'm going to need to wear noise cancelling headphones today! Working today so need to shower and finish getting ready. I had to drop DD off locally for work again today - early for me. She expressed appreciation.
I'm still in that phase of wanting to save all my £ and having things I want light up in the pleasure centres of my brain!!
Now I've got my new boots (and they actually fit) - other than the odd pair of leggings - I'm set for a while. I plan to avoid buying clothes for a couple of months so I can then have a bigger spend 3 months from now if I want. That's how I used to do it while I was a DFW. Hopefully by then I will also have lost more weight and it reduces wasted spends on 'bargains' that don't actually make me feel fab.
Again, I have plenty of art supplies for now - so want to avoid buying anything but journals for at least the next month but preferably three.
I would however like some more blinds before winter. I need to work out what sizes to buy and then decide whether it's worth it / prioritise - given I'll also need to pay someone to put them up. I have no blinds or curtains in my kitchen, downstairs study or landing windowsill - and I think they could help with heat retention this winter as well as privacy. The kitchen in particular gets very cold in winter and is slow to heat up. I'm debating buying some for my lounge as while I have curtains there's often a draught from those windows in winter during the day - so I could get - the day blind type/colour. I may also get some for my art room to be - as while I have curtains I could put up in there I don't like them and the existing roller blind mechanism in there has broken. I may get those honeycomb blinds which don't have any strings...1k*@. I can already hear the cash register going ding, ding, ding.
Hope you all have a good day.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks WD - I'd love shutters but they are out of reach for me right now price wise.
Thanks GAP
Just had an hour's break as I lost all concentration!! Need to go back to 'working' though as I had a late start and worse I have deadlines. Very grateful I have a long weekend coming up.
I've updated all my £ and I hadn't spent quite as much as I thought which was positive. I've paid off my various rewards CCs with the exception of DD's holiday which she hasn't paid me for fully yet. It's on a 0% spend card so I said she could pay September when she is due to get a pay rise. She and her friend have paid 2/3 of the bill.
I checked whether my pre-pay cert for health had renewed and turned out it hadn't so I sorted that. They will backdate it for me but the way the direct debit falls - it's gone after payday which suits me.
Had another chicken casserole for dinner using up some frozen veg and defrosted chicken. Also had overnight oats earlier. Need to buy some more potatoes, milk and either veg or salad or possibly both. DD made a choc fudge cake - it's very nice with strawberries but despite the latter - isn't exactly helpful to my weight loss journey!! Tasty though.
Washed my towels - now in the drier - so they are soft.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Well done on the weight loss, 15lb over 12 weeks is a great result!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee4
