    Thanks @Tahlullah.H and MF

I am glad I came back last night. Slept better in my own bed. DD and I went to my fave Italian cafe with gorgeous views. She got a 'doggy bag' to bring half of her's home in and I think I will do the same next time or we'll share a plate! I now need to 100% get back on a tighter budget although everything I spent was budgeted. I still have my 'art' pot unspent for the month so still planning to buy some extra stuff for that. Need to top up on paints and some long canvases.

I am a little nervous because my car has a whine... It may be power steering related. I need to make myself call the garage and get it checked out instead of burying my head in the sand as it doesn't seem to be going away and DD heard it today as well as me so I am not imagining it. A bit worried about the cost of that. The car is only 5.5 years old so hoping it won't prove too expensive. I've not had the best time recently with car bills. There are lots of speed bumps on my main routes - and I am the kind of person that clobbers kerbs from time to time so hoping it's not too serious.

DS gave me some metallic alcohol inks to play with so will give them a go at some point. Looking forward to that but feel exhausted today.

Busy day tomorrow. Taking DD to work roughly 100 miles. Then phone call with GP re ADHD funding. Then work. A bit nervous about the GP conversation and wondering if I need to do something to prepare. I have 'flexi' credit so may be able to finish early tomorrow depending on workload. Work has suddenly got busy/manic again. DD has told me today - she needs me to take her Tuesday rather than Monday next week and she's only away 1 night - so I need to check out what that means regarding my work commitments. She hasn't got too much longer to go now though - and then I shouldn't need to do these trips any more which will free up my fuel budget for me to go out more at weekends etc.

@savingholmes belated happy birthday! Virtual marching band on its way.  Would you mind explaining what you mean by ADHD funding from your doctor? My adult daughter has just been diagnosed.   Thanks as ever love Humdinger xx

Hi @Humdinger1 - I just mean to get diagnosed. My DS paid for his own diagnosis and then his own meds for a while before the NHS would take him on. It cost him thousands. Ex is in the process of being diagnosed. I asked 3 years ago - and they did the ASD and Dyspraxia bit but weren't qualified to do ADHD. Then covid hit - so didn't chase. I chased about 3 months ago - and now have a discussion with my GP. I am hoping it will also help with my PIP application if I get that diagnosis on top of the other stuff. One of my other adult relatives was told to apply for PIP just based on ADHD diagnosis - will be interesting to see how we get on.

Thank you. I think both are fascinating in their own way. There's too much to see at both really so a great day out.

    Thanks - it was fab.

Waiting for GP to call while having a belated brekkie. Dropped DD off. Rushed back - and she's overdue 10 minutes now. Debating whether to log on to work or just chill for a bit while I wait.

I need to supply more examples of how symptoms affect me for GP to forward back. She's still fighting for funding for me.

  • I've really enjoyed reading your diary through the end, I'm quite sad now that I can't binge on it anymore!
I too have been kerb bumping lately 🤷
It seems like your art/creativity is what gives you the energy to do all the other stuff, may be worth prioritising for that reason alone.
