Yes, Wifi is fine. Unfortunately I dont have an ethernet cable. As I say, I have both tvs sat side-by-side. Old one connects quick, new one doesnt. I have a very fast connection (Im 100 metres from telephone exchange). Not sure what else I can try.

As regards picture quality on the LG (and most tvs) have you tried turninging economy mode off on the panel brightness? I have a new LG  (different one I think) but I went from disappointed to delighted with the picture quality, after fiddling with settings for a bit.
Hmm, I shall try that. TBH Any setting which says "You may notice a higher energy consumption" I cancel out of. However, perhaps Ill try it. I may even turn Demo mode on.

TBH, the picture quality is good, however what is annoying is that Netflix and Youtube (which is all I watch on it) takes ages to load! And then buffers after 10 minutes or so. This is a fault with the tv as I have fibre broadband and my other devices have no connection problems. I even put my old tv next to teh tv tv and my new tv connects fine to Netflix while the new tv takes many minutes to connect.

I think its something to do with the receiver in the tv (or whatever it is that connects to the wifi) or perhaps I have setting on the tv which means it requires a faster connection (4k UHD or something?). I dont know what to do. Im going to give it a a few weeks and if no improvement Ill have no choice but to send it back.

    Is the TV wall mounted?

As I mentioned earlier, I've never though the inbuilt streaming software in combination with the onboard wifi to be better than a dedicated streaming device. I'd recommend getting a Firestick or Roku device and trying that instead.

    What's your broadband connection speed?

Where is the router in relation to the TV? If you had to connect via an ethernet cable to it, is this feasible? Ethernet cables are cheap so no reason to just pick one up. As has already been discussed there are [plenty of things to try.
