    Quick update and 2 questions:

Ive been using the TV for a week now. Im pleased I bought it, good picture (for the price) and nice big tv. Ive removed the satellite lead, so presumebaly anything that can be played on the tv is free. (other the Netflix, Disney + etc...). I havnt played anything other than Youtube and Netflix, so perhaps everything else is a paid-for service.

But Netflix and Yuotube takes ages to load. (its not my network as my other devices are superfast, and my old tv was superfast). Not sure if its the receiver within the TV.

2 technical questions: (Ive been trying to get through to their support; live chat they never answer and I havnt reived a reply to my email) -
    1) Ive got the magic remote working so it now operates my soundbar, however, I still need to use the sounbar's remote to turn it on/off. The magic remote only controls the volume of the sound bar. Is this expected behaviour, or is it expected the magic remote should turn the soundbar on/off too? (I presume the latter!)
    2) If I have the sound outputting on the tv speakers and the soundbar, its echo-y. Is there a setting to make it come out exactly at the same time? Otherwise Ill just use the soundbar as the output.

    Thanks

1, Sounds pretty normal to me.

2, Don't have the TV speakers and Soundbar on together, one or the other.

As far as you inbuilt apps are concerned being long to load, that'll just be the TV's software and possibly poor wifi as opposed to having a standalone smart device. I've never found the TV's streaming apps to be anywhere near as good as the apps on standalone devices (ie, Fire TV, Roku etc).

  • For the remote control issue, look into enabling HDMI CEC and so the TV can pass power on/off signals through the HDMI to the sound bar.

Does it have an optical connection? Does your TV have one?

  • As regards picture quality on the LG (and most tvs) have you tried turninging economy mode off on the panel brightness? I have a new LG  (different one I think) but I went from disappointed to delighted with the picture quality, after fiddling with settings for a bit.

Hmm, I shall try that. TBH Any setting which says "You may notice a higher energy consumption" I cancel out of. However, perhaps Ill try it. I may even turn Demo mode on.

TBH, the picture quality is good, however what is annoying is that Netflix and Youtube (which is all I watch on it) takes ages to load! And then buffers after 10 minutes or so. This is a fault with the tv as I have fibre broadband and my other devices have no connection problems. I even put my old tv next to teh tv tv and my new tv connects fine to Netflix while the new tv takes many minutes to connect.

I think its something to do with the receiver in the tv (or whatever it is that connects to the wifi) or perhaps I have setting on the tv which means it requires a faster connection (4k UHD or something?). I dont know what to do. Im going to give it a a few weeks and if no improvement Ill have no choice but to send it back.
