Whilst LG is the largest manufacturer of large OLED panels the other manufacturers of TVs that use them still create their own controllers, software etc which make a material difference to picture quality hence 3 TVs with the same panel can get very different reviews even from the more independent AV press (which I wouldnt include WhatHiFi in)jamesd said:

I agree with everything else, for example Sony have a good reputation of producing great colour balance and motion handling on their OLEDs whereas LG are much better gaming TVs.0 -

To be pedantic so they're not the largest? (plus technically I said large OLED panel manufacture and there are other niche players for specialist uses rather than TV according to the riveting Mordor Intelligence OLED PANEL MARKET - GROWTH, TRENDS, COVID-19 IMPACT, AND FORECASTS report.)neilmcl said:

Hi guys,Thanks to your very useful posts I went into Richer Sounds today and almost sounded like I knew what I was talking about! After looking at a few different TVs and relising that OLEDS are *a little* out of my price range, Im veering towards this: https://www.richersounds.com/lg-50nano866pa.htmlIts nano (rather than OLED or QLED).What do you think? Any strong opinions for/against buying this model?Ive had a quick look on Google, but cant see anywhere cheaper to buy this? (It comes with 6 year guarantee and free ear buds! lol)Thanks0

Not a bad choice, If you've been into RS and seen it and like the picture buy it.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Do you have SKY TV or want SKY.
With SKY Glass you can get a TV at a decent price outright or a monthly fee.
Get referred and join through the link and we both get a £75 mastercard
You may get a better deal through topcashback or quidco so if this is for you check out all your options.
Do you live near a Costco, lots of TV's on show and working all with 5 years warranty.

The OLED is £699, so not that much of a difference. What is different is the length of the warranty.
NANO and LED are not related.
Nanocell is related to Quantum Dot on other TVs. If you cannot afford OLED, the next step down is Full Array Local Dimming or Mini LED TVs.
Don't be misled by claims of Local Dimming if there is no Full Array mentioned. Just marketing.
Here is an example with Full Array Local Dimming: https://hisense.co.uk/tvs/all-tvs/features/full-array-local-dimming/
An example, rather than a specific recommendation.

Hmmm. This is an OLED for £799 (6 year warrantee etc) https://www.richersounds.com/lg-oled48a16la.html . Although whether the £150 extra is worth it I dont know. The only OLEDs they had in the shop were £1200+ so I didnt really look at them.
Ive just look at Quidco and I can get a 2.2% cashback with Richer Sounds.0
