I don't know what the planned discount is in GM but in similar areas the discount will be 100% for the first 2 years. In other words it would be getting on for 4 years from now before you started to pay and almost time for a trade-in.
In terms of reduced value, people in the trade who I know say that vehicle sales are increasingly national and CAZ charges are of no interest in large areas of the country so there is no effect on value. Even with local sales many people in Chester, Liverpool or Blackpool won't care about Manchester CAZ1 -

Your info about the Manchester CAZ zone is incorrect. The £10 fee will not apply to vans until 1/6/23, which is 19 months away.
Ya thanks for correcting me about the Caz date, but it will still affect me having to pay, plus a greater loss of valve.

All I have noticed is that I won’t qualify for a grant as I have not had the van for 12 months when the grants come out in jan 22. As far as I am aware I will have to pay in June 23? Confused .com already😳0 -

Perhaps you'd be better served making your posts less pithy and more "to the point", explaining what you mean rather than fire one-liners which can easily be misconstrued from what you (supposedly) intended. 🙄
Nevertheless - feel free to have the last word - I won't see it.Jenni x7 -

Hi just a bit of a update
I sent the garage a recorded letter and proof of the salesman stating it was ulez compliant.
They have agreed that I was miss sold, and are will to take back the vehicle.
They want to charge me £0.50p per mile I have used it. Approx 700 miles so far.I think that’s a ok offer?
I did get a low offer for my trade in vehicle £650, but imo correct value was about £1200+ but I agreed to the lower offer just to get the deal done.
My question is am I entitled to be put back in same financial position before buying the van ie my old van £1200 plus?0 -
You are entitled to your old van back, or the value of the van if it is not possible to return it. As the only financial record of the value was the trade-in value then that's what they'll say should be reimbursed (as well as the balance you originally paid). You might struggle to argue otherwise as to the value of the old van.
50p per mile seems very high though, and way higher than even the worst of the PCP/PCH companies' excess mileage charges. 20p would still be high but may be more palatable. However ... what was the starting mileage and what is the current mileage? (+700 miles on 5k miles is much more significant than on 50k miles ... on the latter it is noise/negligible as to the impact on the value - especially as used values are so robust right now).Jenni x1
