Can I reject my used van as the salesman lied to me

Early September I bought a used van £6k from a well known dealer in Lancashire , went and had a test drive all ok and told them I would decide over the weekend.
On the 04/09/21 I sent the salesman a email, asking how much the road tax was and if the van was ULEZ compliant, he replied with the cost of tax and stated the van was ULEZ compliant.
So on the 11/09/21 I went and collected the van, traded my old van in, paid road fund tax and drove off.
The reason I asked about ULEZ is the I live in greater Manchester and early next year if vans are not ULEZ compliant then it’s £10 per day fee.
I checked the other day on their web site, as signs have started to go up, and jogged my memory, and found out my van is non compliant,(euro 5) yes maybe I should have checked before I parted with any dosh. But just took the salesman word for it. I still have the email
Question do you think it will be a case of going to court? As my van now is worthless in greater Manchester

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)1 -

You need to check the exact wording of your question and the ULEZ rules. Did you specifically refer to the Manchester ULEZ and what rules were listed at the time? For example, there are different categories of diesel engine, some of which are compliant, and some which are not.
Whatever the response, I suspect the best you'll get is a discount so if ULEZ compliance is vital to you, youre best off selling it on. Assuming this was a B2B purchase, it's contract law that's applicable, not consumer law.2 -
ULEZ only applies to London. Other cities have Clean Air Zones.
Did you specify which city you needed to know about?0 -

And the van is not ulez compliant, just found out it’s euro 5 engine so not compliant with ulez or clean air zone.0 -
I think your user name suggesting you are a plumber is going to make it difficult to convince anyone it's not used for your work.
But regardless, if it's not as described then its a mute point, it was still mis-sold.
You did buy it a couple of months ago though so don't expect a full refund.0 -
Buying a commercial vehicle is almost always a business transaction rather than a consumer one (hence why prices are usually shown excluding VAT).To try and claim it was a consumer purchase there would be some very limited circumstances where this could be done, but the fact that you were trading in another used van would knock most of these arguments out of the water. That’s not to say you don’t have any rights or protection, it’s just not quite so straightforward as relying on consumer law.0
