I left my property on 6th September, Contacted Symbio, asked for final bill and any credit to be refunded. Symbio went bust a few weeks later and EON Next were appointed. I have a approached EON Next(yesterday) they state they do not have any record of me and they do not have my credit. I have an email from Symbio 1st Nov stating credit is safe and EON next will contact me.

Advice please?

  • Hi.  I am in similar position with Symbio.  Because I left and there is no supply to move to Eon, I suspect I will be at the end of the queue.

I'm in the same boat. I left Symbio on 2nd August due to a house move and have received no emails from Symbio about the £95 credit they owe me. I've pretty much given up on it now so anything I get back is a bonus.I haven't contacted  EON Next yet.

  • If Eon don't have any record of you they should have a record of your old property and the date on which the new owners took over.  So they can infer that someone was there before 6th September.  You just have to persuade them to track down your records.

  • If it were me I would provide documentary evidence of my account & outstanding credit to EON Next & raise a complaint with them - if that fails then I would refer the complaint to the Ombudsman

I also left Symbio - thankfully I owe Symbio money so if EON next lose my account details then Im not going to be chasing them

  • Eon Next have only in the past few days set up accounts for customers of Symbio at the time they went under, and none of that group will yet have received final accounts and surplus balances transferred, so I'd suggest that it's a little early in the inevitably lengthy process for them to be dealing with former Symbio customers.

Just curious,if you'd left Symbio prior to them going out of business would you be transferred to Eon under the SOLR process or not?,if you weren't a Symbio customer then there'd be nothing to SOLR to Eon would there?.

They should be transferred to the SOLR if the account hadn't yet been settled.

I hope so, I'm in this situation and they owe me over £300.

If your final Symbio statement shows your account in credit, then your account should be passed to the SoLR for settlement by them.

If you had already left Symbio, then your actual supply should not change again.
