Me neither!0 -
I moved conveyancers on Monday, and the new one did more work in 48 hours than PPL/MyHomeMove did in 5 weeks. Absolutely delighted I moved, it was worth the risk. (I was at the stage where MHM/PPL received the draft contract at the start of October and sat on it, without sending any enquiries. I had all the searches back).1

Simplify have confirmed that its clients involved in the incident who move to another conveyancer will not be charged for the work already completed by Simplify. In addition, once they are available, land searches already completed for these clients may be transferred to the newly appointed conveyancer.0 -

We will try to get this refunded but I already expect PPL to fight back citing the T&Cs. The information from CLC doesn't fill me with confidence due to the way they worded it - they say 'charged' which is different to 'refunded'. Let's see what happens!0 -

I assume you paid by debit or credit card? In that case you'd probably have luck with a chargeback via your bank.0 -

Nationwide's website says this:"The new solicitor will need to provide a letter or email confirming they're acting for the clients and can send this directly to mortgagedocuments@nationwide.co.uk. Our processing team will then contact the old solicitor to confirm they're no longer acting for the clients and a revised mortgage offer will be issued."
My new solicitor can easily say they are now acting for me but I am worried how NW will get PPL to confirm they are no longer acting for me. Their phone lines are temperamental and most people say they do not have access to emails.
Does anyone have any ideas?1 -
I am selling and buying a property, PPL have taken 6 months and I had just signed the contract but had not been given an exchange date. Can anyone confirm whether I technically still own my property? The stress is unbearable and I am worried sick about my data being stolen. They have my bank/debit card details and my birth certificate.I am now hoping my buyer or seller drop out as I just want this to end.0

You own your property until completion day - that's the day you move out of the property. (But you're committed to selling it once you've 'exchanged contracts'.)- You've signed your contract, but has PPL 'exchanged contracts' for you? (I think you'd know if they had.)
- If they haven't exchanged contracts, you are free to drop-out of the buying and selling process.
- But you might still have to pay your estate agent's fee - it depends on on the estate agent's contract that you agreed to.
- And you probably won't get any mortgage application fees, survey fees and search fees refunded.
- Normally, you would have to pay your solicitor's fees as well, if you back-out - but perhaps PPL will waive those fees in these circumstances.
