yeah bless , even followed the instructions I gave that were wrong

but it was a long journey and hopefully suzie has learnt at least how to repair grub

Yeah, but nothing not too bad, perhaps one advantage of Linux is that it shows you what you're doing, or not!
Give it a day to be sure that everything is working as it should, then edit grub to remove the Win 10 reserved partition
 (/dev/sda1)?
I know it would annoy me!

P.S. Ventoy rocks, as the young people say.
