  • As others have said the decision is yours I have been there as well and know how difficult it is, take your time but remember to look after yourself. Sending you hugs xx

The situation sounds very similar to my marriage Missy. I did everything, paid for everything and he did what he wanted and then played the victim to everyone else. As slm6002 said above, my life is much smoother and calmer now too. I wish you the best in whatever you decide, but just remember that you deserve all the support and love you give him too. xx

I'm another one who was in this position once. All I can say is that once I realised I was the one who was making all the effort and decided enough was enough I was much happier. I won't pretend it was easy financially or emotionally and it takes a lot of courage but it was the best thing I ever did for me and my son. Very best wishes. I hope everything works out for you. xxx

Thank you all for your kind comments. I’m a strong person and will live life with just me and the children quite happily if I choose that path. Had another rather brutal conversation with OH last night. I think it’s sinking in but who knows as yet. I can’t sleep as you can tell so work is going to be v hard today. It’s very full on today and a 10 hour shift. I might have to succumb to an energy drink and sweets to get me through. We probably will go on holiday. It will be make or break I think.

I need to have a look at any kindle books I might want to take away and take my notebook and pen so I can start planning on my future life.

In other news, cats leg is getting better, OH cleaned the house and did some washing, which has helped, I had beans on toast for dinner. Guilty pleasure. I think I’m pretty much set for school starting, just need to get a bag, stationery and football boots. Need to sort out a phone contract for Roo, mine got switched to the cheaper one yesterday, although v nearly got myself tied into a contract unknowingly, but realised just in time!

Managed to not go to the shop, found an energy drink at work and am eating biscuits. Not good for me but getting me through! Bring on 5.30!

Didn’t sleep again last night but at work again today. The weather is horrendous! Decided to go on holiday with OH not sure if it’s a good idea or not but just going to go with it. Worrying about flights now as there’s connections etc and I’m not a great flyer so we will see. Just need to get through today, need to go shopping for cat food etc.

I think you might end up sleeping on holiday to catch up lol.  I would be anxious about connecting flights but I am sure it will all work out.

I hope the holiday clears things up for you and you have a lovely break.   You are strong and will be successful whatever you decide.  He needs to be your partner, not your third child.

With the savings - definitely keep them until you decide what you are doing.  You might want to consider putting half in PBs and half in a high interest account?  Then at least you'll be getting something back as well as the chance to win.

Hello lovely friends. Thanks so much for keeping me company in my journey. On holiday and things are ok. Had a proper no holds barred conversation with OH on the first day where he ended up crying and struggling with the truth but it seems to have sunk in somewhat and he’s been trying a lot harder so we shall see how it goes. I’m loving having the time to budget, although it’s showing until Nov I’m going to struggle. Oooooh but in good news, possible permanent job that is from ad hoc job have given me a temporary contract but 3 days a week on a good rate from Oct - Feb when they will interview for permanent job….. so that’s good. But it will take a couple of months to get my first pay check as it’s all invoice based. So I need to just sort of survive until Nov.
