Ok have completely got side tracked from money saving, unsurprisingly. Really need to get my head back in the game. I still don’t know about whether permanent job will materialise. I’m hopeful but who knows, if so it will be September.  But still working ad hoc. Think we’ve found a buyer for the business but won’t be until March. I need to invoice tomorrow as have quite a lot to invoice for. Money is v up and down at the moment. Paying an awful lot for childcare. It’s just me and the children at home this week so going to take some time out for myself tomorrow. Look at budgets and maybe go shopping.

So I’ve forked out a lot of money today, £500 on childcare and school things. I was good and did all of my invoicing, although it came to a lot less than I thought! I won’t see that for a while though.

I have a friend and her children coming tonight and I’m feeding them although I’m being really cheap and just feeding them frozen pizza from Lidl 2 for £1.50! Before we go swimming. I went to Lidl and only spent £19.10 which was for up until the end of the week, I’ve tried to be inventive with ingredients and didn’t just buy the standard things just because I usually do, so it will be egg sandwiches for lunch, as I didn't buy cheese or ham but have a dozen eggs. The children go to their grandmas on Saturday and OH is away so makes things cheaper, although me and May can have a girls night on Friday night as Roo is at camp too. So maybe we should have something nice for dinner…. Like what though I wonder. Got Roo’s hair cut so that was another £14.

Really going to look into my money later. As I think I’m going to be short after September as as hoc job ends then, and if the permanent one doesn’t materialise straight away it’s going to be a problem unless I look at saving some. The other job I went for will prob come about by the end of the year too so I have options but I pretty much need to know I have enough to live on until maybe, worst case scenario, the beginning of March! Oooooh that’s a long time! Right best get looking at stuff to save on!

So I’ve been thinking a lot about money. Everything has been super tight as OH and I decided to go away in the summer just the two of us in the hope se can rebuild a little. We checked flights and they seemed reasonable but then checked again and the flights had gone up by £400! We were going to wait until our big invoice was paid for before paying for it but as the price went up so much so quickly I decided to use up the whole emergency fund. And found out our invoices aren’t getting paid yet as agency hasn’t been paid!!!! I had to take a deep breath and remember never to be so stupid again. Fingers crossed they SHOULD be paid at some point next week.

I wish we hadn’t booked it, but hindsight is a wonderful thing, and we’re so enthusiastic about trying to do things that will help us mend our relationship, we just didn’t think. It is a lesson learned to wait for money to come in before we spend it.

So things I have done to save money as we are now up against it. Me and May had a girls night as roo was out, I had booked pizza place and cinema, but cancelled the pizza place and spent £3 on a ready meal dinner of her choice from Tesco instead. It was her treat not mine so I had beans on toast! We Took our own popcorn and drink to the cinema and I didn’t buy a coffee, first time for everything!

I’m going to meet OH at the airport when he gets in tonight, he doesn’t know. I booked a ticket using my railcard and it cost £20. Just checked the price If I had booked it today and it’s £80! I did this on Tuesday before I realised how short of cash we are. But I thought I’d make the most of it.  I won’t get any coffee or anything on the train.

I didn’t buy anything extra at work and just had the lunch they provided.

So whilst on the train later I’m going to come up with budgets.

So currently on the train. Of course OH’s plans has been delayed by an hour and ten minutes!!! So I have 2 hours to kill, I may very much succumb to a coffee or similar whilst I wait as I left the house at 3.

I have sat and done my budgets and I should survive, although I haven’t looked at the joint account yet.

So I need to keep the food shopping to a minimum this week, we’re working away wed-sun, so actually can probably get away with just getting, milk, bread and cheese and a few bits of fruit I have £8 in change in my purse. Hopefully that will do it. As we’re away, we’ll get breakfast and lunch provided but not dinner so we’ll have to pay for evening meals. I can see me living on Maccy d chicken wraps!

Ok just checked my purse and I have £9.55 in there. I will get:

    milk £1.45
    bananas £1.80 x 10
    apples x 6 95p
    broccoli 75p
    cheese £2.85
    bread 75p
    bagels 95p

    £9.50
