missymoo81 said:I’ve been really tired and hormonal, think I am at that stage of perimenapause. I’m so tired all of the time, lethargic, have absolutely no get up and go, low mood and self esteem. I’m struggling to find motivation to cook anything that takes longer than 5 minutes to shove it in the oven. Living for the time each day I can sit down on the sofa and do nothing. Think a lot of that has spurred on the spending. So going to try my best to self medicate. Not sure how though. Have also been getting lost in social media rubbish, which isn’t helping.
Welcome back Missy! I can so relate to this."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Ok, had an emotional rough couple of weeks where we’ve had issues with staff and business and having to put a lot of extra work in, also having a
super bad cold, I just completely lost my mojo. I’m an emotional eater and shopper and both have taken a toll. I’m not going to look at how much I’ve spent it’s pointless as I can’t do anything about it. So onward and upwards. I really do need to try and start setting myself realistic goals for the month rather than just saying I have zero spending money to make it fall within budget. I need to see what I can figure out money wise.I hope you’re all ok. I’ve woken up to the loveliest of days, cold but clear and sunny. I can even hear the birds singing. Small pleasures!2 -
Nice to hear from you Missy. Sorry you are still having a rough time of it.
You need to set yourself realistic budgets and targets otherwise you are just setting yourself up to fail.1 -
Thanks @RelievedSheff me and other half still have a lot to deal with but money wise my head is in a better place. Am just doing a shopping order and meal planning for this week.It feels like spring time but I know it’s supposed to get colder this week.2

I’ve got £8.60 in my purse which should pay for the postage of some things I need to send that were presents. Ive just sorted out a return for some gym stuff I’ve bought, so I need to send that today. Really pleased with myself for this one as it’s £118 worth, why I thought I had the money for it I don’t know. I did need some so I bought some on vinted for a fraction of the price. But that has also been a bit of a struggle as I’ve just been buying willnilly without thinking how it all adds up. So I’ve deleted the app.OH is paying for the shopping this week so I’m going to try and stock up on a few things.
I do need to get some make up as a couple of things I have completely run out of, I’ve found some on eBay a lot cheaper so I’ll get those. It’s only R*mMel I don’t go for expensive makes.Need to think of a meal plan:
Monday - curry
Tuesday - fajitas
wednesday - pizza
Thursday - omelette
Friday -
Not sure on the rest, maybe chilli1 -
Well done on deleting the app. It will remove the temptation to spend money you don't have spare.

I’m so pleased with myself I’ve actually gone to the post office and sent everything off. I’ve also messaged a client to say she owes some money and I’ve just treated myself to a free coffee with my card!2

So today hasn’t started as well as I’d hoped. Car has gone back into some safety mode thing. We went through a whole rigmarole to get it fixed last time, but it had a new battery so shouldn’t be happening. OH is going to put it on charge to hopefully see what we can fix.Not feeling great today, all coldy and rubbish. Just at work for now then going back home for 1245. Need to do some washing, then doing the school pick up, then get the shopping then helping Roo with his homework then making enchiladas for dinner, might see if I can cook them in the air fryer?1

Argh mortgage and all bills are due and I am about £450 short, so I’ve had to go into my overdraft and borrow money from my emergency pot. Really hate doing this, I have money coming in this month but it’s all over the place as to when it will be paid in. I just need to make sure I put it back and not just forgot about it. Money saving things I have done today. I would normally get a meal deal or some sort of food with OH at work, but I didn’t, I came home and had some toast and it’s so nice to be at home relaxing in the sun that’s coming through the window.Me and Roo have a little tea and cake date after school on a Tuesday as May is at football practice. So we go and pick the click and collect shopping up, then have coffee and cake at c@sta. but I have another free drink on my card, I’m going to buy a bag of doughnuts and he can have a babycinno, so instead of what would normally cost around £10+ (I know!) it will be about £1.55, I have coins for this amount, left over from yesterdays post office trip. I’m hoping my return tracks soon as I could really do with that money!!1

I’m so pleased with myself, have had a lovely afternoon and evening. Roo and I sat in C@sta and did his homework and I got doughnuts, it actually cost £1.60 for those and Roos hot chocolate and my free coffee. Shopping came in at £57 and I got a sub on the honey which was a bigger jar so that was good.I picked May up and she was amazing at football today, she’s so proud of her little self. I put all of the shopping away and rearranged some cupboards, looked through the new Tesco mag with Roo and found some great recipes to try. I then emptied the bin, unloaded the dishwasher put a wash on and made enchilada and salad from scratch and from odds and ends from the fridge that needed using! Feel a little bit like supermum. Have just loaded the dishwasher, put the children to bed, sorted the washing and hung up all the wet washing! Now am finally sitting down with a cuppa and the cat for company.4
