It’s stupid am and I’m waiting for my first client. It’s from home so not too bad. I’ve realised I’ve started to do something unconsciously, I’ve stopped looking on social media, I check notifications for work etc, but I’ve stopped checking stories and scrolling and consequently feel so much better!Today is busy ish with 5 sessions today, one has cancelled. I need to put a chicken stew in the slow cooker for tonight.I’ve just run out of foundation 🤦🏻♀️. Now I’d like to say I won’t bother, but I don’t have the best skin and always wear a little bit of something. I’ll eek out the bottle as much as I can but will have to use surveys for that I think. I’ve got £3 something at the moment. And I don’t buy expensive stuff, hopefully I can manage until the end of the week.1

Boots do a foundation for £2.99, Although I’m not sure what it’s like. Rimmel etc seem to be doing 2 for £12, one bottle lasts me about a year. although thinking about it, I bought some fake tan and bits last week, stupidly, I don’t ever wear fake tan but was feeling a bit bleugh, and thought I could look nicer. but I just can’t afford it, so I’ll take those couple of bits back. And get foundation that way. Probably do that Thursday.1

Struggling mentally today. I want to be better at things to do with my job, but for me to do that would mean training for hours every day. It would make
me happier but I also don’t know where I would find the time. As I am already strapped for time and sleep. Feel like I’m fighting a losing battle.

Hope you are feeling a bit better today."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Ok so I’ve done some things today that I’m proud of. I went to a friends and took lunch with me to make for everyone, but took some ham and part baked rolls and some hm banana bread that I already had in! Usually I’d have spent about £10 on food from the coop. I’ve been going around turning all the plug sockets and lights off when I’m not using them. I’m thinking about what food we have in and how long it will last and resisting eating things which will mean early trips to the shops as opposed to eek if everything out until Sunday.

Although have had to find £6 for over due school trip fees, not sure how I’m going to pay for that 🤷🏻♀️. Surveys are almost at £6, so possibly that.1

Ok so looked at things to take back to boots and it comes to around £16. I will buy 2 x foundations for £12, as they’re on offer, and I need hair mousse, which is usually around £4. So that’s good as that’s the £16. I will use the money from surveys to pay the £6 school trip. I had an unexpected bill of £13 come out earlier this week too. I have counted up £10 in 20ps which I will pay into the bank. I’d like to see if I can cobble together another £12 as the cat knocked the childrens cups off of the side and broke both of them. So I thought I would get 2 new ones and make them reusable plastic ones so that we can take them to C0sta and get double rewards! Which works out great! But I need to buy them. So trying to put the money together to get them. I’m also going to try and see how far I can make the £30 + £10 voucher food last, 2 weeks would be amazing but that is rather optimistic.
10 days would be good! Just going to put the shopping list into the Tesco app to get an idea. Eventhough ill be shopping in lidl.

@missymoo81 wouldn’t you be better just leaving the kids’ cups for now? It’s an awful stress having to count every penny and each additional little purchase just adds to the stress. Even if you cobble together the money it may make more sense to pop it in a jar or aside for the next unexpected expense?Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

In the short term can you afford to go to costa? Not from what you have said on here, so buying cups to use there at the moment makes no sense to me. Sounds like a good idea to invest in suitable cups when your finances are less precarious, for now, can you have anything suitable at home that you can use to save spending any money?

I just seem to be working at the moment all the hours as it’s all little bits here and there, for very little return! And i am mentally and physically broken. I’ve fallen asleep on the sofa every night this week, OH is trying to do a lot but it’s taking it’s toll on his well-being too. We had a chat about what to do long term, as it’s just not sustainable, but we’re just to emotionally drained to really have a proper conversation about it. We’re going to put some time aside at the weekend and hopefully discuss things. Thanks so much for reading and posting, I really appreciate your advice and support.7
