  • Hey @slm6002 thank you so much for your message, no not yet. This week has been mental with work, me and OH have worked every day. And I finally have a day off and he’s gone to London to work until Thursday. I thought I would like being on my own in the house as the children are at their dads, and I’ve absolutely hated it. The first 3 hours were a novelty then that wore off and I just got very bored. I’ve got stuff I could and should be doing but I’m so tired I just can’t be bothered. Ill try and get some bits done tomorrow. I did do some washing today. Then treated myself to binge watching Echoes. I really should be budgeting snd meal planning.

in other news ad hoc job is suoer
busy for the next month or so, and they're super pleased with me, want me to do more of the admin and also want to up my day rate! Which is wonderful!

im really hoping that when my invoice gets paid I can actually for the first time over pay the mortgage a little.

  • I know you want to overpay on your mortgage but would the extra money not be best off kept aside for one of the months when your budget is running a little short?

If you don't use it you can always pay it off the mortgage at a later date.
  • I would agree with @RelievedSheff. I always think it’s more sensible to have a good emergency fund and a buffer for low income months before OPing. That’s why I’m not OPing right now, I’m aiming for a 6 month emergency fund first.

and best laid plans all fall down. May has covid….. I won’t get paid from ad hoc job if I can’t go on Thursday. OH is away. Ex has to drive his partner to hospital. I’m hoping for a miraculous recovery from May. Why are things so hard.

Oh Missy, it all sounds like it has been super stressful!  You can only do what you can do.  If May has Covid and you can't go to work, then you can't.  Might be good for you to have a quiet sofa day with her as well, to catch your breath.

Thank you all, she is pretty poorly according to ex. Being sick etc. really worried about work as really can’t afford to miss it! But also super worried about May being so poorly, neither me or OH have had it so that’s also a worry 🙄.
  • How’s it going Missy? Hope that May is better now?
