Thank you, you lovely lot, you really do keep me going! I’m trying to figure out everything at the moment. OH is talking more. We are going to sit down hopefully on Sunday night or next week and have a look at Costs of running the big business and hourly rates etc.

Love this adhoc job, they will offer me more but further afield. So I’d have to travel, but if I knew enough in advance I could hopefully get childcare. So would def pay as a full time job, but would work part time. but obv with no security…..

but in other news, I haven’t spent any money today. And don’t intend to. I have had my lunch for free at work as at ad hoc job. And had lots of tea and coffee. Am here tomorrow and the next day too. But will have to pay childcare, I’m hoping OH will pay half. Have a zoom pt at 7.45.

A bit tired but it’s all good. Can’t eat much due to poorly tooth. So think I may have to make some soup for later!

The add hoc job sounds like a good stop gap as long as you can get child care sorted.  Hope OH chips in and all the hassle is not left to you.
Hopefully you will manage to have a good heart to heart at the weekend and things can start to get sorted.  You'll drive yourself into the ground if you continue as you are.  ((((hugs)))) XXX

Having a little bit of downtime in my ad hoc job. Made it myself a coffee and going through the numbers. Doesn’t look good at the moment I’m about £750 short between now at 8th Oct!! Which is crazy! This is due to so many reasons. Holiday catching up with us, all of the money I’ve had to fork out on school supplies and uniforms etc. also ad hoc job is yet to pay me. I will get paid but it takes such a long time so I can’t depend on it as I don’t know when it will be!

Trying to look at things I can cut back on or take away to try and claw some back 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

I’m also thinking of ways to cut the heating and gas bills etc. OH is wholly onboard this time which is good. So unhappily, my hot tub is now off 😢. It’s a luxury I can’t afford. I’ve already got a big duvet in the lounge for when evenings getting colder. And I found another thinner one which I could do with a cover for. To go in the childrens play room. We all have blankets for the beds and the sofas too.

I’m going to try and not put the oven on at all if I can help it. I’ve just found a recipe for stove top pizza! I’ve got a George foreman a sandwich toaster, a slow cooker and a one pot cooker thing. I’ve got no idea if I can do it, but I will try. Not sure how I could do potato wedges, maybe dry fry them?

At the moment we don’t need our boiler on all day, as we rarely use hot water, only for a shower, do you think it’s ok to turn the boiler off for the day, or would it damage it, or is it not really using any power / gas if we’re not using the hot water so pointless turning it off?!

I’m using this as more as a brain dump,
So sorry for all the downloaded info.

I have seen recipes for roast potatoes in the slow cooker, but never tried them so maybe wedges could be done this way too.  Look at the 'feed you family for £20' website as I am sure it was on there.  I only ever turn the water on to be heated when we need it.  You are lucky OH is on board with it as this will help a lot.  My XH always thought I was stupid for doing money saving things or prepping things for winter etc (thankfully I can do what I like now he is XH lol)

We do chips and wedges in the air fryer. They turn out really well and the air fryer is much cheaper to run than the main oven.

Couldn't you do wedges in the george foreman?  Just googled it and there's loads of recipes.  You might need to slice them into rounds rather than wedges.

Thanks @slm6002 yes it does help having OH on board but he’s not quite as dedicated as me it seems! Hi @RelievedSheff I don’t have an air fryer unfortunately. I’ve been looking on google @jwil and there are lots of different ways you can cook them. Like you say, maybe cutting them in rounds would help them cook too.

Well I’m on day 3 of ad hoc job, omg I’m tired. I’m on my feet all day for 10 hours. I don't get much of a break where customers can’t see me. So always on best behaviour and don’t feel like I can really rest. I’ve not slept that well either. Just need to get today done. Then Sunday we’re sorting out the childrens rooms as that’s moving day for them to have their own bedrooms. There’s quite a lot of work involved. But we’re almost there. Just have a huge charity shop run to do.  Then we’re at my dads for lunch, then Monday is my birthday then it’s back to school Tuesday!

But it’s been a nsd for the last 2 days and hopefully the same today and Sunday. OH is going to pay for all of the childcare this past few days which really helps.

    Right best get ready.
