Don't try and implement too many changes at once.  Start with just one or two changes which will make the biggest difference.  Something like making packed lunches each evening so there isn't a rush in the morning to do it or worse still not taking anything and ending up buying something.  Another could be making sure you know what you are going to be having for your meals for that day and having the right things in the fridge/cupboards including taking anything out of the freezer which is needed.

You'll feel less overwhelmed by it all if you do it this way as once these things are imbedded in your daily life then move on to another one or two things until you have changed all the things you have planned.

I agree with JD. Don't try and do too many changes at once.

Thanks @joedenise and @RelievedSheff I have done nothing but sit on my bum all day. I feel so drained and washed out, I wonder if it’s just tiredness or if I’ve picked something up whilst away. It doesn’t help that it feels like it’s about a million degrees in the house. All I’ve done today is 2 loads of washing but at least I managed to dry them on the line. Fed the cats and made breakfast and lunch. I had a little snooze on the sofa which I’m not sure has actually helped. I really do want to be doing things but just don’t seem to have the energy.

If you need to rest then rest.  You are always on the go, a day or two won't harm.

I agree with the others, don't try and change too much at once or you'll just give up.  One thing at a time will mean you are more likely to create new habits.

Also I can’t remember if I said but we can’t get a new car, as it’s registered to the business, without paying about £8000 back in vat and tax!! So we’re going to have to keep the gas guzzler as the saving we’d make in fuel wouldn’t add up to nearly that amount, even over years 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

@dawnybabes we’re not entitled to UC unfortunately 😢. OHs wages just tips us over the balance.
Is that with childcare costs ?

We earn too much as a couple to get any UC help I think. Or have I got this wrong and we still get some money off of childcare?

Hey, still struggling with tiredness today, it was just too hot to sleep last night and didn’t end up falling asleep until about 6.30am! Got about 2.5 hours, I don’t feel great but don’t feel as bad as you’d think. I’m a little groggy. Have relieved OH from work as he was on shift at 6 and he’s just as tired, I’m teaching 12.30-1.30 then meeting my friend and her babies for coffee at 2. So will be a small spend there, but I have some cash in my purse which will hopefully cover it. I will need to get some food for the next couple of days. We’re doing some work for a friend unpaid Thursday to Sunday. Unfortunately this is going to cost us a bit, we’re staying in a hotel, although paid for, we need to pay fuel for the 8 hour round trip, parking is £10 a day, and food isn’t provided….. ‘sigh’ it’s super long days too. But our help is needed and I’m sure it will be fun.

Finally pick up my babies on Monday. Can’t wait to see them, their dad has them for 3 weeks in the holidays and I have them for the rest of the time. So going to plan some lovely things in for us to do. Hopefully lots of beach trips and free things!

If you can't get UC for childcare, remember Tax Free Childcare - we use that.

you might qualify for the childcare element of the award - can be up to 85% of the cost - there’s websites that will work it out for you
