Pub owned by brewery

The brewery aren't going to be in the slightest bit interested. Concentrate on pursuing the builders.3

Given the brewery dont have their name outside its almost certain that maintenance, particularly interior decor etc are the responsibility of the publican subject to minimum standards.Grumpy_chap said:
I am not sure that the brewery would be involved here, unless there is more detail that is not shared. Large companies such as breweries usually have framework agreements for any building works with national companies, not local independent contractors. It seems unlikely, therefore, that the brewery would have had the work done using your funds.diggerDan696969 said:Thanks for your replies 👍🏻….. yeah tried that, tried google, might be a good option to try land registry
it’s actually because I want to tell the brewery that their manager is a very untrustworthy person. Basically she owns a building company with her husband, I paid them money in lockdown to do my extension, ……. I know I know, but it was for materials etc. They never did any work on my extension except left me with an open drain and spent all my money doing up the pub in lockdown !!! As you can imagine ….. frustrating is not the word !!!
I dont think the OP thinks the Brewery has done anything wrong but its just part of their campaign against the builder that they want to let the Brewery know that their tenant has embezzled, in their opinion, funds.0 -
Publicly slandering the wife is unlikely to achieve anything. Possibly the reverse.Sandtree said:Grumpy_chap said:

Yep, completely understand. I was going along the lines of “does the brewery know what kind of person is running their pub” and do they want to be associated with basically a thief? Whether they spent the money on the pub, I know hard to prove, or not….. they still basically stole the money from me and won’t give it back. Even offered them monthly payments to pay me back, still nothing.Just trying all angles to be honest, thanks again all for your input 👍🏻👍🏻0

O yes … and the wife is co-owner of the building firm, the pub upstairs is the building firms office, that’s the connection.0

The only real way to find out is to ask a member of staff or to get in touch with the local branch of CAMRA, who will know anything and everything about the pubs on their patch. The problem is that there are simply too many variables. Some pubs are owned freehold, some have leases and some have tenants who are not leaseholders. The occupier may not be the landlord, owner or freeholder, and may or may not be a manager employed by a pub company that may or may not be a brewery. Complicated.
A free house can buy and sell whatever beer it likes. A tied house must buy a certain amount of beer from a particular brewery, but can also sell other beer depending on contractual agreements. Neither is relevant to the points in the above paragraph, which relate to the ownership and occupation of the building.
Either way, your complaint is with the people not the pub; you need to take the matter regarding the failure to carry the work out up with them.1 -
Doesn't seem to warrant statements such asdiggerDan696969 said:O yes … and the wife is co-owner of the building firm, the pub upstairs is the building firms office, that’s the connection.

What action have you taken to pursue the business itself?0 -
Doesn’t warrant a statement like that, very true, I wanted to say a lot worse than that !!!! I’ve had debt collection companies issue letters, I’ve had receivers issue letters of demand, I’ve contacted the police, as I said earlier I’ve accepted the business offer of paying back monthly, 5 months later still waiting for the first payment….. I’ve had the bank try get my money back, and more …..so I’ve done quite a bit to “pursue” the businessThrugelmir said:

Still no justification to start a personal vendetta against an individual just because they have a connection to the business.diggerDan696969 said:
