Hi James, lovely to hear from you again. So very sorry to hear your poor mum caught Covid in hospital!

I can certainly sympathisé with her having copd, I have it too, very nasty! So sad it turned into Pneumonia and then Covid. I'm sure she won't think you've abandoned her James, the nurses are surely bound to tell patients why they can't have visitors, I sincerely hope so at least!! 

If she has to go in again due to an exacerbation or anything else, make sure she takes a phone so that you can phone each other. I bet she will be glad to get home, let's hope it will be this week. She can have oxygen at home so that should be ok. 

Oh I do hope she can give up smoking completely. I gave it up 24 years ago but still got copd,! I'm sure I had whooping cough when I was little which makes the lungs worse though sadly we don't know it at the time! I'll send you a help sheet for her to help through the cravings. It helped 71 people on the MSE Quitting Smoking thread I used to run here. I was thrilled to bits when I quit, T too! 

In a word - NO to the wine. I can't drink alcohol due to medication so you'll all have to go without too! 😵‍💫

Re the amount your EON is overdue, they should show the amount you need to keep in your account on the 1st page. One chap tried to fob T off, but T knew his rights and stuck to his 🔫 s. It's safely in the bank account now. 😍

I'm so very pleased you had your holiday, glamping pods are very good, T and I only had 1 for 2 nights when we were at Bempton Cliffs and it was brilliant!!

So glad your palpitations are down to the menopause and not your heart. The menopause is horrible, I had it at 46!! 😳 I really do sympathise with you with yours. 

Ooh your poor hubby, but far better to get rid of it than risk getting worse! Well done with your savings and I'll see you near the 27th.

#023 (apparently) declaring a day early due to various circumstances mostly out of my control.  I've tallied up £237.27 (and one euro!! Haven't left the country for years so obviously been fleeced with some change at some point).  I'm pleased with this amount as this year seems to have been a tough one despite "normality" returning.  Going to clean out my tin and get it resealed and start the new challenge with a sense of purpose that I hope will last the full year!  Thanks to everyone on this thread and especially @Sue-UU I might not have been posting much recently but I have been reading which has lifted my spirits at times.  I'll be reading with interest tomorrow for all the declarations as I'm sure there will be some big sums appearing;  Good luck everyone!

BTW everyone, I have a face to face appointment with my COPD nurse  tomorrow at 12.40!!! Of all the days!! 😒 Still, it's important for me to go to be helped.

Hi Hetty, that's perfectly ok having declared early, brilliant potting, very well done indeed!!!! 👏👏 It's always a pleasure to be here for everyone each year, and such a joy to see you all potting or saving one way or tother, me too. I know this year's been a very difficult one for us all, and no doubt this next year will be too, but all we can do is save as best we can! Well done in cleaning out your pot for SPC 16, where's the point in wasting money on a new one!

Declaring now for SPC 15 for T & me is £7.615 Chuffed to bits as I really thought it would a lot less!!!

Hi Sue, Hi everyone

Just popped in for a minute. I'll be back tomorrow with my total - whatever that is...I've cut the tin open & tipped the contents into a plastic bag. In the morning, I will take it to Natwest bank & pour it into their coin counting machine (saves me a job counting -it would take me ages, what with all those horrid 5p pieces). The machine prints out a receipt & you just take it to the cashier who enters the amount into your account. Note - This isn't one of those awful, greedy, Coinstar machines which I would never use use.

Been to the hospital today, visiting my Mum's ward still isn't allowed but a nurse said she would pass on a get well card, letter, a book for Mum to read and a few of her favourite snacks. I think she might be on the mend, slowly mind.
