Sealed Pot Challenge ~ 15

Payday tomorrow so the £5 left in my purse will go into the pot.  Had my booster last Thursday, Moderna, felt a bit ropey on Friday and Saturday and I could hardly move my arm which didn’t happen when I had the AZ ones.  I fear that our office return in January will not happen as I expect the work from home if at all possible to be the next directive.  My son’s school is reporting less cases so that’s encouraging but I'm so glad I made the decision no for the party.  I’ve never heard from the parent since I said unfortunately he couldn’t go; I never gave a reason or excuse I just said he couldn’t go.  Both parents of said child work in the NHS so maybe they know something about the pandemic the rest of us are blissfully unaware of 🤷‍♀️  Talking of the NHS, an emergency ambulance turned up at my house this morning; wrong address (luckily you can see the house they were after from my front door).  It certainly gave me a shock, I had to get another coffee to settle myself back into work! 😂

Afternoon Potters, hope you are all staying safe and well.  Oh my goodness Hettyhound, that must have been a terrible shock!  I'd have needed more than a coffee 

A large tree came down in the storm last Friday and meant we were without power from 1 am Friday until 9 pm Saturday.  We are fortunate enough to have a wood burning stove and a bottled gas cooker so were able to keep warm and have some hot food and drinks.   My heart goes out to those who have been without power for days, you don't realise how much you rely on electricity until it's gone. 

Sunday was a frenzy of activity for me and I washed and hoovered my car.  Under one of the mats I found 20p so that went straight into my pot!  Total potting for this week is £7.85.

Brilliant with being able to pot the £5er, Hetty!!

Most friends of mine say they've felt either fluey or like me and shattered especially if you're on medication. I finally relented and took my 3rd lot of epilepsy drugs, what with the new one and the vaccination, I was done in for at least 3 days!! Me too with my arm being so painful, yet DH hasn't felt a thing! He had no after-effects from the jab either!! Still, he does have me to put up with all year round!

A good idea to be working from home all week, at least you'll be safer.

I wouldn't have thought it necessary for you to give an excuse with the parents of the child themselves being NHS workers, I'm just surprised they gave out the invitations given circumstances being as they are.

I couldn't help but feel sorry for your other neighbour the Paramedics were looking for! No wonder you needed a coffee!!

Oh Siju, I'm so glad you weren't close to the tree that fell!! Luckily you weren't without power for too long, unlike the poor folk in Scotland and wherever else they've been without power, the poor souls who are still without power and have no other source of heat must be freezing!! 

Thank goodness you have a wood burner as well as a gas cooker, we've had the latter for years during our camping times, they're always handy sooner or later!!

As you say, electricity, water too is so vital to us all, but when it's gone!!!! 😲 Sunday as though it was a hectic one for you, so thank goodness the 20p made up for it a little at least. Excellent potting altogether!!

December tomorrow is almost unbelievable, this year really is flying by!!

Good morning everyone!

Little itty bits of potting going on here: 9p of interest, another 81p refund from the milk (I pay weekly, then if I reduce the order it is refunded) and other itty bits.

Exhausting being in school at the moment.  I have 3 COVID cases in my class at the moment, so offering learning at home AND to the rest of the class is tiring - my laptop crashed numerous times yesterday!
