@phillw the post you quoted above was clearly spam, it's been removed but you should also delete your quote.

If that is referring to my post upthread then no, it's not spam, and I am not a spammer. I have zero relationship of any sort with Cuckoo.

I was just pointing out that this new provider is offering something that might appeal to the OP, given that the OP said:
    Aidanmc said:
My broadband and phone package is up for renewal soon. The 'offer' price quoted by Plusnet is £35.40 per month for unlimited fiber and UK + mobile calls.
If i were a New Customer to Plusnet i could get the same package for £31.41 + £70 reward gift card.  Both  offers for 18 month contract
Would it be too much to expect as a existing customer, to get the same deal as a new customer?

Cuckoo's 'promise' is that everyone will pay the same price:

"Prices may rise with inflation, but we'll always warn you in advance, and prices will always increase or decrease by the same amount for everyone on our flock."

You'll never get a worse deal than anyone else. We promise."

It doesn't entiirely mesh with their "12-month price promise" - that the price for your broadband won't rise for the first 12 months. However the underlying premise of their offer is that they're not in the business of enticing customers with an offer price for 12 / 18 / 24 months, after which the price bumps up considerably.

It seems to be aimed at people such as the OP who don't want to compare prices with other providers, haggle at the end of the contract with their existing provider, or otherwise switch providers every couple of years or so.

So you managed to haggle them down from £35.40 to £22.99 mth? Respect.
    I wish!
£22.99 for line rental and fibre broadband then £9.41 for UK anytime calls, so £32.40 total.....£3 per month discount.

I managed in the end to get them down to £22 all in - line rental, fibre, and all inclusive calls.  So I'm happy... and it wasn't even my account, it was for parents.

Think a lot depends on who you end up speaking to.  First attempt was a waste of time, second attempt was more successful, and third attempt was because the billing system forgot all about it.  Which is nothing unusual with Plusnet unfortunately so best piece of advice I will give you is make sure you use the Member Centre to see that your bills are what was agreed -  if its wrong, phone up and get it corrected.

I assume they are price matching the nowtv broadband deal, out of interest is this the standard "fibre"  upto 40/10 or the so called "fibre extra" upto 80/20

Plusnet seem to offer three different tiers of pricing

Out of contract - which is where you get completely stung (£43!!!)
Renewal - which is always considerably higher than the the new subscriber price (this is often advertised on the member portal) (~£28)
New subscriber - always the lowest and has bells and whistles on, gift card etc (£23.95)

I managed to get them to grudgingly match the price for their Black Friday offer of the fibre extra broadband, no luck on the gift card sadly. Has anyone ever managed to eke this out of them as a renewing subscriber?

I really get tired with companies doing all this sh1te about "new customers only".

They seem to not realise there are those that are happy with the service and what it offers, but don't wish to pay through the nose for it, or anymore than the current headline offer, which is not an unreasonable request.

How about if you actually kept your existing subscriber base sweet - and rather than encouraging them to clear off elsewhere? Perhaps that would save on your acquisition costs, after all, the cost of £60 gift card must come from somewhere!!!

I am with Plusnet.  When my minimum term last came towards the end I was offered a renewal deal that was the same as a new subscriber.  No giftcards etc but same monthly price as new customers pay.

Was that offered straight out, or did it take a bit of haggling? The chat used to be good but "because covid" they switched it off last year, and I had to phone.

Straight out.  The email about my minimum term coming to end and with the out of term price had a link to a renewal deal.  That link took you to where you could renew for the same price as a new customer.

Doesn't happen for everyone - I had to phone and haggle - ended up with a price which was ~ £1 more than "new" customers.

My Plusnet contract is up for renewal at the beginning of January. For the past few weeks I have been getting emails offering me the same deal (18 month contract) for the same price I am paying now -£25.99.

I went into my account yesterday and found a 'Black Friday' deal for the same product at £23.99. So I signed up for that
