All of this debate to achieve what precisely , anyone know what the point is of £9bn of spending on carbon capture? Answers on the back of an amoeba. To me it's like a Miliband vanity project like most of his wacky ideas. I will not digress to real security for the country, I am sure that all turbines will stop drones and missiles and those do get through will make warm homes discount redundant.
Yes the whole world needs to combat global warming but needs coordinated action and Mr NE(t ze)RO needs to stop fiddling while the world burns.

Cement, iron, glass.
Using cement as an example: even if you heat your cement kilns with zero-carbon electricity, cement chemistry relies on baking limestone (calcium carbonate) to make lime (calcium oxide). This liberates carbon dioxide that needs to be captured if you're not going to release it into the atmosphere.

I know the theory, and the science but how much of the UK CO2 does it save, and will it save the planet ? Call me cynical but cost benefit, don't really work.

Short term, there may be a slight reduction. Long term, prices will continue to go up.
15 years ago, I was paying 25p/day standing charge and 9p/kWh, today I'm, paying 49p and 22p respectively.
Don't see any activities by the orange baboon changing that very much. Just my opinion of course!
