Very interesting and well explained. Maybe the UK will officially approve such systems one day...I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. For the German system the limit for the panel and inverter is 800w, but what would happen if one installed two or three of them?0

And note yet again the spin - on the £80 savings - a less than doing nothing - not a less than now.
Just like so many of the illusory promises of reduced bills.

Probably nothing. If you connected several of them to the same ring main you'd be at greater risk of an electrical fire from a broken ring, than you would be with only one. If you got far too carried away and connected nine or ten to the same ring you'd potentially trip the 32A breaker in your CU if they all hit rated output. You'd also presumably be in breach of the wiring regs, building regs and/or planning regs. It would only become a problem if someone alerted the relevant council department or if eg. your house burned down and an insurance investigator started poking around.N. Hampshire, he/him. 800W inverter output limit, may be able to have say 1200W feeding into it to max out the solar in sub optimal conditions? Even better would be an inverter that fed any excess of 800W into a battery (in DC without conversion back and forth).0

See for example the EcoFlow Stream range:It remains to be seen if these (or any of these plug-in solutions) will be authorised in the UK.Edit to add: I keep mentioning EcoFlow as they're currently selling into the UK market. There are other suppliers selling to the EU, eg. Marstek:And apologies for abusing the "Energy News" thread like this!N. Hampshire, he/him.
