  • According to gridwatch.co.uk, at the time of posting, wind is producing 3 per cent and solar 1 per cent of the UK's power demand.
  • As much as that? Good job the UK has not made a gigantic investment in massive wind turbines. You never see any about, do you? Oh…wait…

Does the current price affect the upcoming review of the price cap or has that largely been decided based on historical pricing? Is it set by a kind of 'pools panel' of experts or will it be set based on real world data/pricing at a point in the near future?

How much higher does the wholesale price need to rise before some of the current fix deals start to become attractive options.

AIUI, it's the 6 months up to and including January, which will decide April 22 cap.
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

The April 2021 price cap will be based on wholesale prices from August 2020 to January 2021. The current prices will be included in that calculation.

Nordpool is back up to 40p/kWh for tomorrow, too. I'm glad I'm not paying spot prices!

It's not just spot prices though, delivery for summer 22 and winter 22 are in the 230p range atm. At this rate next year is going to be really really bad.

That's true, I don't think we've had one go bust since Zog on the 1st? That's almost three weeks!
Of course there's still time before Christmas :)
