I thought that was the average and a monetary value (£100), so with everything else going on it equates to a smaller %. Have I got that backwards?[Deleted User] said:Seems to suggest that the investment allowances are staying broadly the same as they are now.4.3kW PV, 3.6kW inverter. Octopus Agile import, gas Tracker. Zoe. Ripple x 3. Cheshire0 -
Nope, you've got it right. Same allowance for investment - means same £££ in contribution to the price cap - means same £££ of unit price and standing charge as now.70sbudgie said:

So that does make it a smaller % of a bigger number, if that's how you want to think about it.
All it might do is change the balance between regions.1 -
UK power prices hit record high. Prices are surging ahead due to cold snap and lack of wind power.

You can add a lack of solar to your list. My 6.35kWp array generated 654Wh today: I am trying to decide what to do with it.

Researchers have reportedly made a breakthrough in the quest to unlock a “near-limitless, safe, clean” source of energy: they have got more energy out of a nuclear fusion reaction than they put in.Nuclear fusion involves smashing together light elements such as hydrogen to form heavier elements, releasing a huge burst of energy in the process. The approach, which gives rise to the heat and light of the sun and other stars, has been hailed as having huge potential as a sustainable, low-carbon energy source.0 -
So probably at least fifty years away from commercial deployment, just as it has been for the last fifty years.GingerTim said:https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/dec/12/breakthrough-in-nuclear-fusion-could-mean-near-limitless-energy

“Currently, the total savings are only 13%,” Klaus Müller, the head of the federal network agency for utilities,
and the country is planning to ceremonially unveil its first terminal for importing liquefied natural gas (LNG) at the North Sea port of Wilhelmshaven on Saturday.
He dismissed the possibility of households switching to electric heaters and overloading the grid. During cold snaps in November people could have had “the stupid and expensive idea of heating their homes with electricity instead of gas,” Müller said. “Luckily no one did that.”
But people heating single rooms will push up demand!0 -
Just notified by BG that my SEG will rise from 3.2p per kwh to 6.4p per kwh as from 28 November 2022. Still only 12% of the current cost but welcome nevertheless.
