Another rough day on the gas markets.
- Gas for October delivery up 25% to 320p/therm (10.9p/kWh).
- Gas for January and February both back over 600p/therm (20.5p/kWh), and December and March only pennies below that.
Although suppliers (and customers) are insulated from the market by the Energy Price Guarantee, this still doesn't look great since we're going to have to pay for it one way or another.N. I missed this news, Baltic Pipe officially became operational on 27 September 2022, So more stress on Norways gas supply!
"It transports natural gas from the North Sea to Poland via Denmark at up to 10 billion cubic metres (350 billion cubic feet) per year"

Centrica has reopened its giant gas storage facility to boost the UK's supply over the winter.

"Centrica said it could store up to 30 billion cubic feet of gas for UK homes and businesses over the coming colder months. The Rough facility is currently operating at around 20% of its previous capacity this winter.
The reopening of the facility will increase the UK's gas storage capacity by 50%, Centrica said on Friday."1
