Another rough day on the gas markets.

• Gas for October delivery up 25% to 320p/therm (10.9p/kWh).
• Gas for January and February both back over 600p/therm (20.5p/kWh), and December and March only pennies below that.

Although suppliers (and customers) are insulated from the market by the Energy Price Guarantee, this still doesn't look great since we're going to have to pay for it one way or another.

This government won't be paying off any of the national debt pile; that will be left for future administrations to sort out.

I missed this news, Baltic Pipe officially became operational on 27 September 2022, So more stress on Norways gas supply!

It's a decent (if niche) case study.  I designed a few of those.  Biggest problem with making it widespread is that it must be completely isolated from the national grid, you can't just apply the same principles everywhere.

Centrica has reopened its giant gas storage facility to boost the UK's supply over the winter.

The reopening of the facility will increase the UK's gas storage capacity by 50%, Centrica said on Friday."
