I mean I will never ask them for a reference.
And you don't have to. Any potential employer can contact anyone they want for a reference. You really aren't this naive are you? Honestly,  the more you post the deeper the quicksand gets.

So ignoring how I started this post...are you all saying I made a bad move leaving where I am and working for the supplier? I will have the problem I have now with anyone I go to work with anytime now so why dont I take that risk now

I don't know if that question was general or specifically asked of Jillanddy? Anyway, here is my answer.....

No, no necessarily. They may not like it but it is a free country and you are quite entitled to do so. All I (we) are saying is don't antagonise your current employer more than is necessary. They may not care in the slightest or, alternatively, they may decide to be as pedantic and difficult as possible. Who knows!

Thank you thank you! Yes there are several risks with and only way is to keep my head down and not make a fuss with the two weeks left. After that who knows....

When you are self employed you will have insurance to cover this.

If you are sick whilst with your current employer nothing changes to how it's always been.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

The issue is not having a second job it working in a second job using the same hours you would at the primary job when on holiday.

Your holiday pay covers the hours the hours you would be working under the first contract.

A second job using different hours would be ok.

Putting aside how someone who hates their job can accrue 2 yrs worth of annual leave to keep to use in their notice period, the OP has an interesting take on his circumstances:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6212365/random

"I have somewhat a decent job but its nowhere near good enough to what my parents hoped I would have been. I am stuck in this job, which hate but cant leave as I am very unemployable. I cant work with people and get confrontational."

And has previously thought about using his leave to work elsewhere but this time in his own organisation:

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5464206/contract-annual-leave

"I was wondering would it be a bad idea if I approached the senior manager of Team B and ask him if he would like me to cover for that contractor? Of course this would be based on my leave booking with my Team A manager."

If will be 9-5 using the same hours - if they  cancel my leave and ask me to come back I just wont go back. I get this means no pay and losing out my leave and so on. But first they have to contact me to come back. Chances are they will deactivate my account on my last day.

My new job is with my supplier!

Your supplier or the company's ? The loss of business to a competitor wouldn't go down too well if it was related to your personal behaviour. Can become a very small world.
