EDF smart meter not updating or sending
Hi
We got a smart meter with EDF back in August.
As of Sept 26th its sent no meter readings to EDF (according to the energy hub).
Our fixed term also ended on 1st october and our tarrif increased substantially but our meter has not updated so we are seeing the old tarrif.
I was really relying on the smart meter to tell me how much we are spending but it's not working.
EDF just told me to turn it off and on and said they received a reading yesterday (which they definitely didn't as our meter is showing a totally different reading).
Anyone else experienced this? Want to get it sorted as really worried about the amount we're spending but don't know what to do and EDF aren't helping.

Set up a N3rgy.com account (use the ‘I am a consumer’ link. If you can see data, then your smart meter is connected to The DCC network. Alternatively, you can download an App called BRIGHT. Once you have signed up to this App, it will recover your usage data. Hildebrand which is responsible for the App is a Registered DCC User so it is approved to recover meter data with your permission.Your IHD connects to the comms hub that sits above the electricity smart meter. The IHD gets its data via a Home Area Network that is generated by the comms hub. You can have a situation where your smart meters are working normally but the information on the IHD is wrong because the supplier has not transmitted the correct tariff information to your meters.0

Hi,forget about the IHD, set up a wee spreadsheet and update at least once a month, weekly if you prefer, and send readings to your supplier at least once a month, don't rely on the smart meter.0

Because as Dolor says, the IHD is only for your information, it doesn't affect the readings on the meter or what is reported to EDF.Bexm said:Anyone else experienced this? The only thing YOU can turn off is the IHD.
I am with EDF and my IHD has had issues since a meter software update last year.
The meter readings, after delving into the menus are being reported correctly, but the monetary values of usage are way out despite the kWh being correct.
Logging in to your online account and going to Energy Hub should show you your usage, although even that has been having issues for the last two weeks.
I have the BRIGHT app and that is updating correctly for electricity so it is an EDF website issue.

I am with EDF and had a smart meter install in July. It took them about 6 weeks for it to be commissioned and another 2 weeks after that for the usage to show on their website. I did get a message on the IHD when it was commissioned though saying welcome to EDF.
I installed the Bright app and nothing showed on there until commissioning was completed but N3rgy.com showed more historical data (right up to the installation date)0 -

ong with many others, I have had an issue with a Kaifa electricity meter set up for 30 usage monitoring. After a firmware upgrade, the supplier could only pull index readings from the meter. The accompanying HH data XML file was empty. It has taken Kaifa over 6 months to update its firmware. Fortunately, SMETS2 meters retain up to 13 month’s worth of HH data on 4 registers. The problem was that Octopus uses HH data for billing rather than index readings: increasingly, this will become the norm for most time of use tariffs.

I'm on to EDF now. My DD has just tripled, from £54 to £156. I have looked into this and it is based on "estimated usage", which is based on past use. Except that I cannot find any meter readings in my EDF account.I go to the tariff page to see if I can change tariff. I am signed in and it tells me that my DD for the usage data they have for me ought to be £105 per month. So, I have no confidence in EDF! Compared to previous providers I am really struggling to keep a tab on my usage and costs. I used to get monthly reports from them - EDF has a six-month review. If only I could change to something better...0

@Hyaku my smart meter is still not updated with the correct tarrif and EDF are being no help what so ever in rectifying this but I am using the meter and the bright app as above to track my usage.
EDF is collecting the correct reading and they are showing on my smart hub with the correct cost.
I upped my dd my self so we weren't in debt. Gone from about £65 to £100.
Do you have a smart meter?
