Well done Round - watching you gain in confidence and take charge of your life is inspiring xx
Good interview vibes for Mr pigpen
Your date night sounds wonderful, Natty xx
Kaz, I too am jealous of your echinoid. I am always on the lookout for our local celebrity trilobite Calymene blumenbachii, but we haven't been up to our local limestone hilltop for about 3 years, and there aren't any in the sandy soil around these parts. One day....
How is Littleydog, Jazee?
Better news on the 5yo I told you about: he had a 9-hour operation yesterday, and at 6.00 this morning he was asking for a milkshake
This week I have carried on with intermittent decluttering; taken some brand new men's socks, which were stuffed into a drawer under the bed, to the CS (without DH's permission, but they are far too tight for his swollen ankles); and sorted 2 small drawers in the c-o-d which contain sewing bits and bobs. My next target area will be the eaves loft, with the boxes of craft materials and fabrics that have been sitting there mostly untouched for yonks.
I have also flown, as necessary. That did not include cleaning windows, so I must think about doing them some time before the end of this year!
I am determined to get the Horribly Silly bank problems sorted first thing on Monday (the activation code which was supposed to arrive within an hour is still not with me, 24 hours later) and the new bank account application finally completed and sent off to a more cooperative financial institution; then I will be able to spend some time in my garden instead of at my desk. The weather looks quite good for the coming week, and the grass needs cutting. I am also trying to resurrect my (still quite limited) social life and meet up with some friends - the Old Wives haven't got together since everyone came here in July, and I miss them.
Hope everyone has a pleasant weekend xx

I've been up and pottering for a while; finally caught up with thread. Dad is due out of hospital - so mum (who seems to have developed massive anxiety issues) is in the hospital car park, waiting. She cannot bear to sit at home and wait for a phone call.

Hello all. Hope you're all ok today.
We have had the family round this morning for a birthday breakfast which was great. They've all just left and the house is tidy again. No one seemed to notice the dust.
Littleydog is not good. We're waiting for her referral for surgery and the total bill will be about £5000.I'm now having a lazy afternoon cuddling dogs.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Well.... I've paused briefly...
We had the secondary school viewing for Squeak earlier.. it sounds perfect for her on so many levels.. understanding of her anxiety and catering to every one of her interests.. registration form already sent for next September starting IF she gets a place! I'm feeling very positive for her future if she gets a place there.
Swimming Dot was a nightmare and a half.. she threw a wobbly and was pulled from the pool screaming blue murder. I think this may be the last term we take her because she is clearly not getting anything positive from it currently. She loved ballet, they did 'jumping and skipping' she said.
Squeak is a dancing flower in the Alice in Wonderland production. So is very excited and we have a script to learn and SINGING!!!!!! I may be a LOT excited by the singing!
Opticians next with the wild one! Wish us luck!
Kaz. that would be amazing, thank you! Our cliffs are eroding too but a bit safer but it is one of her favourite things to sit cracking rocks looking for Ammonites, we have a few partial ones but she is looking for the motherlode! lol

Pigpen thats great news about the school visit, keeping everything crossed that she gets a place. And its lovely that Dot is enjoying the dancing.
And Round like Iona says, you seem to be so much more confident about work and it must be so nice to know that your colleague has learned so much from you.
Really good day here. Drove to the coast and did an 8.5 mile walk, took a pack up and coffee but had chips instead of our homemade sandwiches. DHs back problems seem to have transferred to his hip and he is worried about it. We will see if the physio has anything useful to say next week.
We have lots to do in the house and garden, so tomorrow will be a doing stuff sort of day, if DHs hip is OK.7 -
Good evening 😁
It has been a beautiful day here today.
Parkrun this morning - lovely along the seafront and makes a change for it to not be windy!
After breakfast I took DD2 home, along with a boot full of her toot - I mean belongings! Then I spent a pleasant couple of hours at the allotment. Pumpkins have been harvested, and 3 trug loads of weeds/dead stuff pulled. So much more to do, but it was very peaceful.
Flying wise - DD2 did some washing, and I WULTD & put on the DW.
Tomorrow I will spend a few more hours at the allotment and then empty as much stuff as I can from my bedroom. The new carpet is being laid on Monday, and we need to dismantle the wardrobes 😱 We are running out of space in the back bedroom already. It appears to be full of dvds that no-one watches anymore but are too precious to throw away 🤦♀️🤬
Hugs, sticks and spoons to those that need them. Round I am proud of you too 😊 Iona I am glad the little one's op went well.8 -
Morning xx
Thank you for your kind comments. I surprised myself...now if I can just stop falling off the cliff in the first place. 🥴
No admin was done yesterday afternoon- but I did read and recycle several magazines. Every little helps. Strictly was a-maz-ing. I've got my favourites for the final but I'll be cheering them all on.
My bed is made and first brew tasted especially good this morning. Time for a second brew and a slice of toast. Then I'll get dressed.
Note to self: sandwich bags and pods.
I hope that everyone is OK and coping well with what life is throwing at them. If you need a listening ear my pm box is always there.

Good morning 😁
I was in no rush to get up this morning as I have struggled all week to wake up!
I am now up, dressed & breakfasted. The WM is on. I am trying to prioritise what I have to do today from my very long list! I will break it down...
Round 1
Empty DW
Put car seats & buggy in the car
Move small cupboard into back room and fill with dvds (to get them off the floor!!)
Empty my wardrobe
I have already moved 1 small cupboard and filled it with dvds. When I said we had a lot, I wasn't kidding!! The top of the large CoD is also covered (double width)
DH was up early as he is doing the Royal Parks half marathon today. He won't be back until this afternoon I imagine, so I want to make a difference before he gets back.
Ok - thats a plan for starters. I will finish my cuppa & crack on!6 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok. You are all awesome at dealing with whatever life throws at you, and I'm certainly always grateful for the support on here.
So far today, I have done dailies, s&sd bathrooms, scrubbed kitchen sink, hoovered through, walked the dogs and popped to the shop.I am now in isolation ahead of surgery later in the week.
Going to cut grass next.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.8
