Struggling already as I want to buy frames for some pictures I have, but going to delay it until at least tomorrow and have a think if I need the odd Xmas present etc that i can combine it with.

     So first NSD today.
QueenJess, if it's possible to delay the purchase, and bunch it up with some other purchases, I've always found that's quite a good way of approaching it? I find wishlists and/or lists of what I need to buy when I arrive at a spendy day are both useful things. I had a spendy day yesterday and bought several items, none very glam (one was a book though), I bought two small torches, candles, loo paper, a gardening tool, that sort of thing, all items I had previously stored in a wishlist. Somehow if an item gets put on a list it feels as though I've alleviated the urge to buy it for now and it goes into a sort of holding pattern till the time arrives to buy some things or I need it (or don't need it and can forget about it). Can you maybe make a list and write "frames" on it, along with "Xmas present for X"? Dunno, just a thought!
I do that for gifts, but generally fail to do that for anything else. I need to put it on a list and revisit the Xmas/birthday lists I had made a start on.

I don’t need the frames right now, but the pictures are hanging around in the way and irritating me, so I should probably get them soon. Will try to pull a better list together though!

ha I totally get the stuff hanging around without being finished thing. Re the lists, it's just a suggestion! I find it helpful because it somehow gets whatever I was wanting out of my brain and makes the urge to buy less pressing. If it's useful to you that's great, if not, it's all good. :)

No, no; I was agreeing with you. Not sure why I don’t often do it for purchases outside of gifts. If I did, maybe I would think more carefully and possibly cut more out - or at least stop forgetting things!

I spent last night reviewing my present list for Xmas and birthdays and looks like I need very little. I then tried to do my own list to give to family (we always do lists so we get what we want) and I am really struggling considering my birthday will also be less than a couple of months after that. I just don’t want that much and I’ve been adding to that list all year!

Will declare a NSD today already. Will hold onto my list until tomorrow in case I add/subtract from it, which will also coincide with an eBay bid item I want for a present ending.

Change of plan.. bid on my item and was immediately outbid despite there being an identical buy it now item for less than their bid. Why do people do that?!

Anyway, I grabbed the cheap tin whilst I could (nice secondhand tin for homemade shortbread presents for Xmas). So I went through my list and spent lots of money, but all planned and aside from two awkward people who are indecisive, I’ve finished Xmas present buying, as well as October and Jan birthday presents!

Feeling very organised already and actually spent very little overall with pretty much everything handmade or second hand 😀
