Congratulations @[Deleted User] I'm really pleased for you! 🥳👏😁
Did they say how much you would be earning so you could properly budget going forward? Perhaps if it is just a 1 year contract you could keep job hunting for a permanent role alongside the temporary one so you're not in the same position next year?
When are people viewing your room for renting it? Fingers crossed someone nice takes it very soon for you 🤞

Oh well done. I was a career temp, loved having a new job every few week/months. The variety of jobs didn't stop me getting work in accounts, always a mat cover or sick cover to be had esp. in credit control. With your degree in forensics perhaps you should look for a forensic accounting role in the longer term. Do you need to spend on a new car or is it wfh?
  • Hope the viewing went well!

  • Congratulations getting a jog. A real weight off your mind. Hopefully the lodger will work out xx
slowly working towards being MF one small over payment at a time :T
  • That's fantastic news if you mean the man is now your new lodger ! How exciting. Even if you only did it for a year it would get you ahead on your savings and allow some wiggle room in your budget. Everything seems to be coming right for you although I understand your concerns on it all.
On your work clothes have you tried Vinted? You could grab some cheap bargains on there and perhaps buy a capsule wardrobe/ uniform just for work to keep costs low and make sure everything mix/ matches with each other to change up the look...i.e just a couple of pairs of black trousers, some nice comfy/smart shirts and one smart jacket then you could add to it as and when you're able but keep costs low. Is the office near to where you live?

Great news on lodger being part time. That’s ideal.
I would not mention changing your start time just yet. Settle in first.

  • Garages are really very expensive for snacks. If you really want a snack could you not go to a SM instead and get offers there rather than garage prices?
Your budget seems very doable to me! I think you've left yourself a good amount to live on- we have £150 here for four of us for spends and groceries. Petrol comes out of DP wages but we try to keep the miles to a minimum.
