I would make a wee payment on your Cc. As you says it’s the slippery slope.
    I wash my trainers often.
Maybe you are right, if I don't have enough money for food I can go to a food bank, I will get some benefits so I can use that for the bills, I can get council tax support, maybe I will be okay without resorting to adding credit to the issue that I would not be able to pay if it came down to it. Do you think it is best not to add to the credit card without a job then, It is the dream to get the job, but I may not be successful yet, it might take longer then expected to get a job and if I have a mountain on the credit card as well as very little money I guess that is a situation that is going to become very difficult?? Gosh, I would have thought I would get out of this situation very quickly, but it is possible I am left on the bench I suppose, the recruiter said my CV was not very good, perhaps he was reflecting what I said to the job interviewer I said this because there is not longevity, it is a very fragmented CV (lots of experiences), the experiences I do have have been good, but it doesn't look like I will stay anywhere 5 mins even though it is untrue.

If I do it the way I have planned I will have until the end of November to get a job maybe December even, if I follow your advice beanie I will probably have until the end of the month before I have to change the way I live to a more destitute way of life, I know which I would prefer, also I have a good chance of getting one of the jobs I am in communication to.

Also I think you are right about the trainers I will return them.
I'd definitely start googling around the cv building and job sites, there's loads of tips you can pickup. I found a good one searching google "voceer cv", they had some good tips on there. Wish you all the best in your job search. The main thing is to try and keep positive.

  • Hi Hotdog, things sound stressful for you. It's probably not a great time to make big decisions when super stressed as you will have the back and forth of 'am I doing the right thing'....at least I know this is how I get.
I wonder if you could do what my friend did. She broke up with her partner who'd been living with her and paying half her mortgage/ bills etc and she couldn't afford to stay in the house. Someone told her about air b'n'b and she decided to try it.... several years down the line she still does it as and when she needs a little extra money. It's not a full time commitment then and it will bolster funds and if you're having a bad week you say -no thank you not this week.
She doesn't live in a particularly well known area, it's a small market town, she still had a lot of interest and charged the same as everyone else in the area even though her house is a small two up two down rather than a big farmhouse. The upside of her house she sold as, within walking distance to the canal walks, local shops and pubs so that might be an option for you? You could dip your toe into sharing your space then.
Also scour FB MP for free beds. Lots come with free mattress lightly used. I've seen loads of them. They will also have free cupboards on there or at least very cheap. You could message and offer money for delivery on some would work out pretty cheap?
Hope you have a good day and hear back from some jobs soon. ☺️

  • I just recently had a call from MD she has taken a tumble because the carer didn't look after her properly, the carer wasn't trained properly with the equipment that was used and MD ended on the floor - she did sound in high spirits even though it is going to take 10 hours before an ambulance arrives. Because of this I have been quickly going through jobs so that I can pick up some bits from MRM&S and see her.

The spare room is officially ready for furniture. Perhaps it is good to leave it for a bit before buying furniture after all, Once I have finished jobs here I will pick up some bits then spend the rest of the day with MD.

Apart from anything else going to the garage for snacks is expensive.

  • Thanks @bungingaround I have had two more interview invitations today which is encouraging however I am not really excited by any of the jobs that I am getting interviews for, but I will go to all and see whether I can get a job out of it. One of the jobs is quite distant to my dream job but I will go to it still.

The job that I didn't get I was told by the employer that I didn't have any drive even though I said in the interview that I wanted to become a management accountant, mum thought that it was quite cruel that she said I didn't have any drive, tbh honest I didn't get a good vibe in the interview...however it is the only job out of the lot that I wanted as in the job spec...but you never know one of the jobs that I undertake could still lead to where I want to go so I shouldn't put off any of them besides I need hard cash!!

I was doing well in the morning with regards no spend, I stuck to the plan, then I did some chores and ended up at MDs with her groceries, however she was asleep it was hot, I had an interview to get to and there was a lot of waiting I decided to go to the location early and scope it out, which was wise as it took a while to find. Then I went to the pub for a pint of lime and soda £3.00 which stopped my No spend in its tracks then went to the interview...ohh well. I then thought I would pop into the garage on the way back since I had spent money...I really need to stop my excessive spending, why have I no control...it doesn't help that mum needs me a lot at the moment it is stressing me out quite a bit tbh. I really would like some peace just about now, I might tell her what I am feeling actually.

......I just spoke with her and she took it the wrong way as per usual, I did explain that I wasn't having a go at her, I asked her to send over what she needs rather then me picking her up and coming over to mine and sorting, she did say that I sort of offered to take on the responsibility and that she was quite capable. God my life feels like a failure, yes I have interviews...but it feels like a load of hoops for no step forward just sideways and maybe a little backwards. I wish my mum would get me and not be arguementative all the time.

The candidates that are going up against me are probably thinner, younger and can really sell themselves...me I can walk the walk, but can I talk the talk. I don't want a job I am not inspired by, I want to be happy in a job yes, but I also want it to be leading somewhere, it feels like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place right now, needing cash but not wanting to end up in a dead end and the jobs on offer are uninspiring...they need to take a leaf out of the book of the company where I did want to go...they included management accounts as well as day to day transactional stuff, so there is room to grow and improve. Life sucks.

Okay lets start earning cash again before worrying about the job role I have!! I need to update my calendar with all the interviews, I have three next week. I didn't hear back from one of the interviews that I attended, I am less hopeful about that now...that is life.

I am just reliving the interview I had today...apparently somebody would work out what work I would do while at home lacking autonomy, I would kill myself If I had to work there for long, I think I will write her a message to say that it is unsuitable for me...It is stressing me out thinking I will have to work there, I know I shouldn't turn down a job, but it doesn't cover the cost of living and a brand new car which I would need to get to the office therefore I don't feel too bad about this. DWP doesn't have to know, I do still have three interviews, and I won't turn down everything I get...just this one...should I feel guilty for doing this?

    O.A.O.
Regarding your thoughts on the brand new car.. why would you need a brand new car? I always go for a decent second hander with 100k on the clock and a chain as a timing belt. Cars do so many miles these days, you can pick up bargains. Also try to keep the PMA.
