Have a safe journey there and back.1

The funeral went well (if you know what I mean) and we were able to catch up with family and some old friends which was nice.
Today I went out and bought the rest of the Christmas food - a frozen turkey crown plus lots of other goodies, cheese, crackers etc. So all I need to buy now are fresh vegetables. I feel very organised!
Before we went shopping I finished my second OU assignment and have now submitted that a few days early. I am pleased with it, I've done the best that I could, hopefully its enough for a pass at least.
Also did a quick hoover round and packed the suitcase yet again as we are off tomorrow to see some NT properties and have a Christmas meal, then a stopover - only to Devon this time, so a quick hop over the border. I'm taking overnight oats with me for breakfast and I've also packed a tuna salad for lunch, so I can enjoy me Christmas meal tomorrow night. This is a really difficult time of year to try and stick to a dietDebt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Terrible rain this morning and lots of surface water. We had to go to the town and the hospital for DH to have a scan (all is well) and this completes his tests that have lasted a couple of weeks over two appointments. So all is well heading into Christmas, which is good news.
We called at the local NT property and had a coffee which was really nice. We saw the house decorated for Christmas. I also bought a book for a £1 on origami and papercraft. Paper decorations seem to be the rage this year and I would like to make some next year for the house and tree.
Bought a few more bits and bobs from the charity shop for stocking fillers for DS and also a couple more bits of food.
Breakfast was a SW muffin, lunch soup and tonight we had chilli and rice - nice comfort food.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -

We had a lovely Christmas and I didn't eat as much as I normally do! I went for my SW weigh in today and gained 1/2 lb - I can live with that. But, that is three weeks that I have gained, so I need to get back on track now!
Yesterday we took the decorations down. I hate to see them up after Christmas and in January and i never really got the whole twelfth night thing. They are now stored back in the loft.
DS goes back on 1st Jan. I have packed him a bag with leftover chocolates and biscuits to take back for him and his flatmates.
A bit of housework and washing done today.
I've also done a new budget for next year and some personal admin/banking type jobs.
After SW I went to a garden centre and had a fry up which was lovely. I also bought a calendar for next year which was half price. We stopped off at the supermarket and the first thing to greet me was hot cross buns! Some fruit and veg, eggs and milk bought.
This afternoon watching films and doing my knitting and sewing.
No lunch after the fry up. Tonight its a favourite meal of ours and DS - scampi with peas and oven chips.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Busy cooking a roast pork dinner today - will have it around 4 ish so a late lunch/early dinner. We are having cauliflower, red cabbage, greens and roast potatoes with it. DH and DS love yorkies, so I'll make some of them as well.
A bit of hoovering and clearing/tidying up done. Sorted out food, some frozen, some to be eaten over the next couple of days.
Weather very grey and drizzly and horrible. Extremely windy too.
I've decided to try a few challenges this year and am going to do the 1p challenge. I've set up a pot in my monzo account and will aim to transfer to that most days. That money to be used towards Christmas next year.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Happy New Year
Today DS goes back. I will be sorry to see him go but in some ways it will be nice to get back to normal. The train station is 40 mins drive away, so we will make use of the journey by popping into Hobbycraft (I did check and its open) as I want some wool. Also go to the supermarket and get some large potatoes to use as jacket potatoes.
Breakfast was overnight oats, lunch leftover pork with tomatoes and some fruit. tonight its chilli with rice.
A load of washing is in the machine as we speak. I feel now that the holidays are over!
I am looking forward to watching the second season of The Tourist later.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Well, for the first time in at least 3 weeks we have brilliant sunshine. It has got colder though, but its well worth it to see the sun - makes me feel so much better.
This morning a bit of studying done, chatted on an OU online group, ran the hoover round downstairs and had a tidy up and worked on my meal planning for this week.
This afternoon will have a walk along the coast path.
Breakfast was overnight oats, lunch home made pea soup and tonight its curry night with prosecco.Debt free and Keeping on Track0 -
Very cold here today. I have a bit of a pain in the neck (literally)! I didn;t sleep too well, lots of tossing and turning, so maybe I slept "funny" on it.
This morning I did some OU study which included a call from my tutor. Afterwards a bit on the jigsaw DH and I are doing, then we went out for a cuppa at a friends house. Was nice to catch up.
This evening some sewing and a bit of telly - I love Silent Witness and the new series has started, even better the two episodes shown each week are released on iplayer so i just watch them back to back.
Breakfast was porridge with banana, lunch home made pea soup and tonight we had salmon with rice, peas, sweetcorn and green beans. Really tasty as I marinated the salmon in soy sauce.Debt free and Keeping on Track0
