Ebay Sellers That Don't Respond.

More irritating (for me, personally) are sellers where you make a Best Offer and they just let it expire, rather than decline/accept/counteroffer.I imagine that for some of the volume sellers on eBay, their business model shows that it's cheaper to ignore all complaints and just let eBay refund the few who go through he SNAD process. I'm always amazed at how often I see negative feedback along the lines of "item was broken but no response from seller so I just had to throw it away".I'd be interested to hear from the sellers on here as to whether they get notifications from eBay when (potential) buyers ask questions or make offers...
I watch lots of things, sometimes because I'm thinking of selling a similar item and I'm interested if it sells and for how much.
I sometimes get offers on items like this and just let them expire.
Your comment has made me think.
What do other sellers think about this?
Is it polite to decline an offer on an item you're watching but don't want to buy, rather than not responding?
I actually choose to press the decline button if it's not something i want, i think it's courteous - just a pity that most sellers i seem to contact don't show the same respect.
I'll start doing that out of courtesy.0 -
One seller finally responded - the item was sold on another site and they forgot to remove it from the ebay listing 😤😤😤😠
That's me.
I'm done with it 🤬🤬😡😡1 -
There are some people who ask questions and expect an immediate response.....within a few minutes. Those of us without mobile phones might only look at our messages once a day so it may be a couple of days before the question is answered.1

I had someone message me 7 times between 1am and 6am, the last message asking for a quick response.
They wanted me to cancel their bid and the auction wasn't closing until 2pm!
I have the app on my tablet which gets turned off at night, notifications are silent anyway, I simply didn't get the messages until 8am when I checked my emails on phone.0 -
Those are the very allowances i make, as i pointed out earlier in the thread, i'm talking about over a 2-3 week period - people don't respond.
There are listings that are active for longer - still nothing.
I'm very reasonable in my timescale and expectations - we're all busy people, we're not attached to our devices all the time, i completely understand that.0 -
Sellers with good descriptions or who answer queries will be more likely to sell, leaving the other listings behind to annoy more people...
But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

I always give a good description and lots of photo's so the only questions I get are 'will you accept £XX'. If I was going to accept offers I would have listed with best offer. I tend to ignore these types of questions.0

My brother is quite well off. He might not respond for a few reasons. If he's busy, which is most of the time, he won't break off to answer questions as his time Is more important to him in doing other stuff. If he gets a sale he probably gets someone to deal with it. He doesn't need the money and if you don't buy someone else will be along shortly who will. Annoying isn't it !0

I'm done with it 🤬🤬😡😡Yes, so annoying. I lost out on an item I really wanted on Vinted because the seller also put it on ebay.I had another ebay seller who didn't respond to a few offers I made on the same item. I looked up the item sometime later and they had accepted an offer from someone else. So frustrating.

But that's business. Many buyers think it's all about them.......it isnt. There is something called competition.1
