So, 11 months later this problem is greater than ever before 😠😠😠

I'm interested in several items, currently, there are details not included in the listings so i've asked 9 different sellers about measurements and 4 have replied, this has been over a 3 week period - it's infuriating.

I chase it after 4 or 5 days so i'm not nagging them, i'll then chase maybe a day or so after and still nothing.
Same with the offers sent to me via messaging, i'll respond with an offer, i'll add a note to seller .... silence, nothing, not a peep.

Sometimes we're talking about a high value purchase too  ...... no acknowledgment of my message, no reply at all.
    It's very, very, poor.
They're items i want, i need to check details because they're not included, ask, never hear a peep, time and time, and time, and time, again 😠😠😠

Come on sellers, PLEASE, we want to spend our money with you.

It is the same when you have bought something and it arrives with parts missing or wrong colour etc. The sellers cannot be bothered to reply to messages so I SNAD and get my money back, the seller does not send a label so I get to keep it.  Had this with car mats, phone charger, washing up tablets and more.
  • Over the, many, years i've used ebay this problem has definitely occured in more recent times - this never used to happen before, so what's changed in the last, say, 4-5 years ???   ...... 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️
Whatever it is, could sellers please address it - is there a way you can, collectively, converse and compare ideas to try and minimise this ???

I think it's all part of selling online, always a few bad eggs, just like non paying buyers. The problems you are describing here are the signs of a poor seller, perhaps one to steer clear of. Thankfully most buyers and sellers are fine.
  • One yes, but we're talking more often than not here - it's totally ridiculous and absolutely infuriating 😤😤😤😠
  • I find it mildly irritating rather than "infuriating", although I also regard it as a sign of a seller that I probably don't want to buy from. More irritating (for me, personally) are sellers where you make a Best Offer and they just let it expire, rather than decline/accept/counteroffer.

I imagine that for some of the volume sellers on eBay, their business model shows that it's cheaper to ignore all complaints and just let eBay refund the few who go through he SNAD process. I'm always amazed at how often I see negative feedback along the lines of "item was broken but no response from seller so I just had to throw it away".

I'd be interested to hear from the sellers on here as to whether they get notifications from eBay when (potential) buyers ask questions or make offers...

    I'm surprised at that.
I watch lots of things, sometimes because I'm thinking of selling a similar item and I'm interested if it sells and for how much.
I sometimes get offers on items like this and just let them expire.
Your comment has made me think.
What do other sellers think about this?
Is it polite to decline an offer on an item you're watching but don't want to buy, rather than not responding?

Indeed, i agree if it was just the odd one or two - but numerous sellers all in a month - and in general ?
I totally understand, if an individual/small seller they might be unable to access an account if on holiday etc.
If it's a power-seller - why not dedicate a department of your business model to responding to this part of their business ?

Those offers don't appear to be monitored because when i respond with an accept, counter, or decline and include a message it's never acknowledged.

I actually choose to press the decline button if it's not something i want, i think it's courteous - just a pity that most sellers i seem to contact don't show the same respect.

Earlier i was tempted to name and shame them, on here, but sense got the better of me, but that's how fed up i am of the whole scene.

    Hi
I've noted questions are often asnwered by the non business sellers that only sell the odd item that belonged to them, like me

Another point, this year, I stopped receiving email notifications re offers/question and missed out of a sale. Something to do with the settings and it took a while to respolve
