Maybe reading this guide will help

I don't think OfgeM will be in touch with you directly, just the new supplier
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.
  • Oopps That's what I meant, hopefully it will be soon, if I don't hear anything by tomorrow ill look at sorting out my own supplier. although they all seem to be about the same, hopefully it will not be British Gas, been there  before Avro, absolute nightmare getting money refunded, and awful customer service
  • Plus I believe Martin Lewis is on TV tonight to explain things, I think they should drag Boris on as well to explain what the hell is going on.
  • It can take months for the firm that you are being switched to to process a huge influx of new accounts, I think we're stuck until that happens.
  • It takes more than 24 hours to appoint a SOLR. What's the rush?

From past experience, the solr process can take over three weeks to complete. In the current climate I think it will take significantly longer, purely because of the high number of accounts that need to be transferred.

    Exactly my thoughts.

When Breeze went down December 2019 it was two weeks before British Gas emailed us to say they'd taken over, and another two before we got details of the new tariff. And that was only one company. :(

Over a million customers needing to be transferred to SOLR from numerous companies isn't going to be quick, especially when many companies are still not in the office and staff possibly still working from home.

I'm resigned to a long wait.

  • Have resigned ourselves to a very long wait, I did though manage to get into my Avro account this morning and download some statements, the last being a week ago, and details on the tariff we were on, it was also  showing we were £148 in credit although I cant see us getting this back for a very long time if at all. Bit miffed I have to wait so long to hear from our new supplier, I am very tempted just to do it on my own, I will give it a week and if nothing happens I will do my own transfer. In future i cant ever see me switching to a small supplier ever again, its not worth the risk.
  • There is an article on the main site in the News section posted on the 22nd September about the Avro and Green situation. The article implies it's better to wait until a new supplier has been appointed before moving.

I would post a link but the forum won't let me as don't post that often.

You will get your credit back. There is no 'if' about it, and although, yes, it could take a few months, equally you might be pleasantly surprised that it's just a few weeks. The best way to avoid complications is to sit back and let nature take its course. You haven't had to wait 'so long' - it isn't even 48 hours yet! I don't think a SOLR  has ever been appointed within that timescale. It could happen later today, over the weekend or early next week.
