Tesco online deliveries - the good and the bad

Everything Tesco sell loose, they also sell in some form of plastic packaging - at least in my local one. Always an option if you're struggling with the paper bags.
I'm a big fan of the paper bags. Well, my cats are.0 -
Yes I am aware that they sell packaged items the same but there are instances when simply only want a few loose, say mushrooms or else it can get wasted.Mnoee said:Everything Tesco sell loose, they also sell in some form of plastic packaging - at least in my local one. I had an email on Monday telling me I would be getting an email in future and I had a delivery today. I got the email (at 10.20 this morning for a 3-7pm slot) but I still got a paper receipt. Back-up as it's only just changed, or right hand not knowing what the left is doing?Mnoee said:I finally have the email receipts in my area, yay! I don't know if it's now everywhere, as the email I was sent just said that they'd be trialling it and would now be removing paper notes - but I've only had paper notes until now.1 -
I'm hoping it's backup - I had a delivery the day I posted where I got both. The driver seemed surprised that I knew the subs already, so maybe a bit of both!GaleSF63 said:

We have had subs delivered when we didn’t tick for them to sub it, mainly milk and things like that, so I guess they think they are helping.
I have also noticed the prices change… between the day i checked out and my delivery arriving it went up by £7 but only one thing was sold by weight and it wasn’t that much difference.
last delivery the guy told me one item isn’t there (not listed on the note as not being Available) and I would be refunded. Not sure what happened to it on the truck but it wasn’t refunded either… so now I have decide if it’s worth £1.12 of my time to ring and ask for a refund.
have also just had an email this week to say they will send an email receipt so finally one good thing.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
We have just switched to email receipts, and I hate it. I have to logon during the day(not easy at work) to check the subs and print a receipt for the elderly person I order for, then deliver it to them. Extra inconvenient work for me, and the cost of the paper and ink. Only Tesco winning here I think.

I see the problem you have, but the big advantage to the majority is knowing about changes and substitutes in advance, rather than when it arrives and having to make a snap decision on the doorstep.Clowance said:We have just switched to email receipts, and I hate it. This has changed on in-store receipts now as well in stores with newer tills.JaneDoeJohnDoe said:Beware of the new email receipts as they do discounts in a weird way & even stranger if using Clubcard voucher by taking pences off each item.
One item I actually bought two of only showed up as one (catchweight fish) on bill, as I added up the bill & it did not tally but once I added in the 2nd fish it did.
We shopped at Tesco Extra and bought something that was 3for2 the receipt showed a discount on all three items.
For example 3 items at £2 each on a 3for2 would show as £1.33 each.0 -
I can't check Tesco at the moment, but on the Waitrose site you get the option of having a paper receipt as well. Keep a look-out next time you order, in case Tesco are going to do that.Clowance said:We have just switched to email receipts, and I hate it. If I cannot access the site during the day, I have no idea what the subs will be. I am so annoyed that I plan to complain and ask for at least a printable pdf of the receipt, yesterdays was 9 colour pages!
