Misleading 'CREATE POST' button

Please see this thread and my message to the board guide:
Should I ask my mother-in-law to share the money she's made selling my stuff? — MoneySavingExpert Forum
"It might have been nice to explain to that new user what he's done wrong.
I was about to do that when you closed the thread.
This is not the first time someone has done this on the Money Moral Dilemma threads.
I think the red box in the top left hand corner that says "CREATE POST" is misleading.
Newbies think they are creating a reply to the thread they are viewing but they are actually creating a new THREAD.
Maybe feed this back to MSE."
Perhaps you could amend.

Technically, CREATE POST is not incorrect terminology to reply to a thread. The button for creating a new thread should be called NEW THREAD or CREATE THREAD (or replace THREAD with TOPIC) ... it also being called CREATE POST is the bigger issue IMHO.
Edit: I understand now what you mean ... that button is always used to create a new topic/thread, so it should be renamed. (I never usually see it because I use filters to hide the left menu so I can stretch the forum content to the whole width of the screen).Jenni x1 -
@Pollycat, I brought a very similar Create Post button issue to MSE's attention back in June.
See this thread - The Create Post button4 -

thanks - you said it far better than I did.
I was cross mainly because of the snippy reply to a newbie on the thread that has been closed:

There’re quite a few instances in this forum of accepted internet conventions being broken. It’s as though the forum was designed by someone who’d never used internet forums7

MSE:
I think you should address this.
It was flagged up in June and I know a board guide has also brought it to your attention.
I even private messaged MSE Laura.
On the Marriage and Relationships boards, there are 3 new threads that have been created in the space of 6 hours instead of replies to the original thread.
Here:
Expensive mistakes — MoneySavingExpert Forum
should we split bills — MoneySavingExpert Forum
expensive mistakes — MoneySavingExpert Forum
I've seen some snippy replies to confused newbies.
It's really not fair on them.
'Create Post' button is misleading.

Hello - yes we do keep track of the feedback raised on this board, and we do take action. We've made a point of being more active on the board as a team in the last few months. Unfortunately it sometimes takes longer than any of us would like to resolve certain things.
We do care, though, and as a team we are working hard to ensure the forum runs as smoothly as possible.Official MSE Forum Team member. Please report all problem posts to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Just bringing this back to MSE's attention:
