The Create Post button

There is a Create Post button at the top left of most, if not every, screen on this forum....

Can I suggest that everywhere when not actually reading a thread it would be better worded as Create Thread?
But of course I have noticed that there is a tendency these days to call a thread a discussion, so perhaps that button could/should be named Create Discussion.
When a user is actually reading a thread then Create Post might well be appropriate, but even then I would suggest that a better descriptor would be Create Reply.
As an aside, when ready to commit this text to start a new thread, I notice that the button I need to click on is labelled Post Discussion.
Even when using the Create Post button to create a reply on an existing thread/discussion, the button used to commit the deed is labelled Post Discussion.
In summary, one creates a post then posts a discussion. In the interests of keeping things simple and easily understandable, especially for new users, I believe some consistency in the use of the words post, thread and discussion is needed.

Hello KeithP,
This is really valuable feedback and a great point. Could I ask you to paste it into the feedback form? You don't need to fill in every field but this is perfect for point 3 ('Are there any ways you think we could further improve the new design?').
Thank you,

Thanks for your comment @MSE_Laura_F.
I feel I have 'done my bit' by bringing this point to your attention.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it should be a really simple matter for you or one of your colleagues to copy and paste the above detail wherever you want it.
If you don't want to do that then so be it.
I'm really not trying to be awkward, but this board is labelled Site Feedback.
I have provided feedback.6 -
Be grateful you got a reply.
