Why is that a thing, when it's supplied nationally? Is the South's energy better quality or somehow costs more to supply? lol

    Yes, it does.
    Why?
I'm talking about the energy itself, btw.

You asked "does the South's energy cost more to supply?" and the answer is "yes, it does".
The why is detailed in Ofgem's calculations of the cap. You should read them.

They are  ploughing through the half-a-million Avro customers, which has to take time.  I had an e-mail yesterday saying:
"Great news: your transfer to Octopus Energy is underway, and we expect to have you properly up and running on our award-winning platform in around 5 days.
"Once complete, you'll find all your property details online and be able to check your account balance or history of transactions, submit meter readings - maybe win a credit for doing so! - adjust the date or amount of your payments, or let us know if you're moving house or would like a smart meter."
Are you keeping an eye on the page at https://octopus.energy/avro/?  They are updating it daily to say how things are going.

Right, that's what I was getting up until now;  but now the address has been linked to the account, and things are under way.  Your account should follow pretty quickly, going by what they say on the daily blog (link above).

    Your prices (including VAT) are:
    • A standing charge of 24.11p per day and 20.49p/kWh for your electricity.
    • A standing charge of 26.11p per day and 4.13p/kWh for your gas.

Looking at everyone else's prices - it looks like mine is more expensive then everyone. Why??
