@xlnc99 and others - please let us all know who you have signed up with, and on what tariff, once you've done it. Thank you.
    Twilight zone
  • Has anyone had a letter from Octopus explaining their new tariff ? Is it the previous one you were on with Avro ?

I've heard nothing since the email asking for readings - all quiet on the western front. I was previously with Avro.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

They are updating the page at https://octopus.energy/avro/ frequently with details of what they are doing - this is well worth bookmarking and checking regularly.  On Monday, for instance, they said "This week, we’ll begin our next round of emails for customers. This latest email will include your final bill and confirmation that your new Octopus account has been opened, as well as breaking down your new tariff information."

No, it will not be your previous tariff, it will be the Standard Variable Rate tariff which Octopus have referred to as being '£10 below the Ofgem cap' from their very first messages.

This the SVT for the Eastern region, other regions will be a little higher or lower than this.

If comparison sites aren't giving quotes for energy just go to each site in turn and get a quote with an actual 12 month reading as your figures. Once you have everything sorted with the SLoR then do another comparison to see if the prices are still the same

https://octopus.energy/avro/  You can check up how things are progressing on the Avro/Octopus front as they give updates on there daily from the 26/9/21 they are just saying that the rates Avro customers will be on are £10 lower than the Capped price.

Octopus current tariffs appear by clicking top left menu - our tariffs - enter your postcode ("don't click get a  quote") - wait for tariffs to load - click on filters - variable - domestic - scroll down for variable tariff.
  • The price we are paying as former AVRO customers in the south, is 20.49p Kwh Electric plus 24.11p a day Standing Charge.    4.13p Kwh Gas plus 26.11p per day standing charge. Other areas will differ, going by your postcode.

Why is that a thing, when it's supplied nationally? Is the South's energy better quality or somehow costs more to supply? lol
