• For info - I am so disappointed with this retailer.

My husband ordered my Christmas pressie and it just didn't turn up. When he logged in to the account, they had simply cancelled and refunded his order without emailing or calling so he didn't have time to run out and buy elsewhere.

After placing an online order, you do assume it will turn up unless you are told otherwise! An unbelievably bad way to handle what I assume must have been an out of stock issue.

We will be sticking to Fragrance Direct after this!!
• I have now tried over 20 different online retailers for perfume for various presents etc depending on which was cheapest and have found it is very mixed with some sites very good and some very bad.

Ones I would recommend are cheapsmells.com, designerperfumeshop.co.uk, thefragranceshop.co.uk, perfume-click.co.uk, and clickfragrance.co.uk all fast delivery and good prices.

Ones to steer clear include supaperfume (almost 3 weeks for an order and many phone calls to get it), directcosmetics.co.uk (again almost 2 weeks and several emails).

Have you tried Perfume Plus Direct?

Hi I realise that I am really late to this thread but just needed to get a warning out to everyone about this company - "sospecial.co.uk"!

Unfortunately I also read the reviews a little late too otherwise I would have thought twice about placing an order with them. I cant paste links so please just google "sospecial reviews" and check out trustpilot, pricegrabber and kelkoo amongst others.

My experience is exactly the same as you will read in these reviews - I really cant say anything positive about this company. Their customer service is appauling and I still dont have the gift that I ordered for my mothers birthday nearly 5 months ago! Now of course, I have to deal with the forms from the credit card company to get my money back. Interestingly a company of the same name is dissolved according to Companies House. If it is the same "sospecial.co.uk" then surely they shouldnt be trading at all?

DO NOT GO NEAR THIS COMPANY!!!
• Steer well clear of SCENT MALL, based in Bulgaria. They purported to offer Sublime by Jean Patou, very hard to find. What turned up instead was a very dodgy package of Coco Mademoiselle Eau de Parfum by Chanel. I did not open it, but posters on other forums report that the contents smell like cats-!!!!, so it's probably fake. They said I could keep it with a £ 20 voucher. Not acceptable, so I returned it for refund, fortunately by Royal Mail parcel tracking service. After this, they stopped answering eMails, so I had to make a charge-back on my Visa card, successfully. Royal Mail parcel tracking also reported later that the item had indeed been delivered and signed for. Scent Mall did not refund me, even though parcel tracking revealed that the parcel had been signed for. No money lost, apart from my postage, not refunded despite their offers to do so. Google for "Scent Mall" to read reports of customer (dis)satisfaction.
• My Dad is 71 and uses after shave all the time. He tends to buy bottles of cheap stuff from the likes of £1 shops etc and is never really bothered about the make of it, as long as it smells nice.

I'd like to buy him some nice aftershave for Christmas but, as he doesn't have a favourite, was wondering what would be nice for him - and at a decent price too. I don't think I'd like to pay a lot but then again I don't want to get him something for "2.99.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
