We managed to sign up this morning around 9:30 to their 2 year fixed price deal. I’m guessing they will honour the contract now? We are with Bulb and looking to switch to a fixed rate deal, hoping it’s all ok! We got confirmation emails etc.

for those that think they got in in time to check, the cheaper 2yr fix that has just been pulled was called "2 Year Fix And Reward V18" - that has now changed to V19 (in my area would have added over £400 to the V18 tariff!)
The capped Standard Variable Tariff is now cheaper, although that may change in October.

Rates quoted are from 1 October

My dream is to emigrate to a warmer country with fewer people, more space and a better way of life.
    New Zealand or Australia.
The UK is no longer a nice place to live.

But electricity will still cost you 18-20p/unit.  :)

Maybe, but the population of New Zealand is about the same as London so there is a lot less overcrowding.

You'll just be trading central heating for air conditioning

Glad I switched yesterday onto the Sainsburys v18 2 year fixed with the 12000 nectar points as well which will be worth £120 when doubled up.

Don't forget the triple points for spends too if you are dual fuel.

    Is it still worth fixing?

I’m on EON next standard tariff. I tried signing up to the Sainsbury’s 2 year fix yesterday afternoon but gave up due to phone browser troubles not letting me finish the application. Meant to do it on a pc when I got
home in the evening but completely
forgot. Obviously have gone to do it today to find prices have jumped somewhat massively (£400 over the year for me).

Current projected yearly cost on the standard tariff I’m on is £500/year or £40/month less than the 2 year fix although looking at the news that’s probably not likely to remain?

Can someone post what the standing charges and unit charges were for the V18 2 year fixed before it was pulled?
  • v18 (duel fuel 2 years)

    Electric:
     21.133p per kWh
    23.50p per day standing charge

    Gas
    3.858p per kWh
    26.12p per day standing charge

Don't know if your location makes a difference to the rates...

You will save on heating but will need air conditioning and good fire insurance.
