Broadcasted HD.. you thought it was never possible haha
hehehe.. (just playing!)
On a serious note I may have to get that.. prob cheaper than Sky HD lol![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

It should be cheaper as there's no subscription to pay, no idea what the initial install will be though. Someone on hereposted a thread about it recently but for anyone who's not aware the details are here. It seems a bit silly to call it Freesat though when that's what Sky call their Freeview via Sky service.
It's sort of Freeview via Satellite but they're talking about 80 channels being available although not all the current Freeview ones will be due to contract issues. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
hmm that's quite interesting.
Chances are i'd have both of them. Freesat AND Sky.. as long as freesat is a one off payment.
So if its broadcasting HD I guess it will have an HDMI cable?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Presumably it's got HDMI. I won't be going for it myself as I have cable but it looks like a good option for my mother. It's my problem, it's my problem

I guess actually theres going to be competition when its released so Sky users may get the HD package for similar prices.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Hi, It's getting near time to buy if you want one for the big day! What is your choice? My old crt tv (Panasonic) just would not fade away and die had to give it away to force a new purchase, it was at least 15yrs old.
You wont go wrong with plasma from Panasonic or Pioneer. Get the biggest you can, a 42" wide screen in a small room is ok. Try and locate in a corner and be seated in the opposite corner of the room to increase the viewing distance.
Don't forget to factor in a wall mount or cabinet.
The sd broadcast quality does vary, the shows on the natural world use better filming equipment and are of superb quality while the shots from inside an F1 race car are poor!0 -

Yes I thought that they may well do, but alas only in 1080i, not 1080p..;)
Still a better option than Sky, I agree.0 -
Lol true but my article shows 1080i can be converted back into True 1080p without quality loss
hehehe... ah well.
1080i through freesat will make me happy enough[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Same here, anything is better than Sky.;)0 -
Is it only me or does anyone else find it difficult to see the difference between all these gimmicky TVs and the good old CRT (which is arguably better picture quality)? I can't see what all the fuss is about let alone see the difference between 1080p and 1080i (having played HD Xbox 360 on both). They are however a fantastic money making plots to keep us buying and in a couple of years they'll come up with the ones with built-in HD freeview tuner or else you'd need to buy a separate box to keep up.
The only reason I got an LCD was that because it was smaller and would save me some space (with a bigger screen size) and IMO I think that this should be the only reason to switch.
Merry Christmas Everybody.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0
