@enthusiasticsaver - absolutely re GPs - and I would not have an issue IF she didn't do it for her other grandkids! She has a regular commitment to them! Anyway, we are ok with nursery hours now and her just stepping in when there is an emergency as it will never change so I just have to get on with it!
Your poor hubby (though glad he's better now) and that's exactly what I have though mine is mild to moderate hence at present he doesn't think anything other than seeing me yearly is needed (unless of course I started to worsen) - but I always say I've been tired since I was 14 (which I always put down to my shocking diet) but maybe it's this or partially this as it's impossible to say how long I've had it! Thank you for your words of comfort - means a lot.2 -
Nice to hear from you. Playroom will be fabulous and the children will have lots of fun in there.
At least you've had some feedback about your palpitations. You will be monitored now.

Been MIA for a while. Have had this week off but playroom has been rather a disaster! We decided to pull cupboards out but then realised we needed extra coving and skirting boards. The "go to" DIY shop we all know and love didn't have the right sizes so we had to order from a builder's merchant and wait for delivery. That came, DH fitted, filled and sanded and then he was sanding ceiling (last job after we had sanded and filled and sanded all other areas) and noticed it was damp. Pulled out the damp part and discovered a leak from our bathroom! Luckily we have isolated it as being our shower not being properly sealed, so DH did that and then we are now letting it dry. He's had to order more plasterboard and once dry, is going to cut, fit, fill and sand, before we wash the walls and then paint! So it is not going to be finished this week and we can't do anything today really whilst it dries! Very very annoying but glad we caught it before the damage got too extensive and before we laid carpet (which we still haven't ordered!).
Spending this month: let's just say I want the 20th to hurry up for a new budget because it is horrendous. However, this has largely been down to buying things to decorate playroom, accessories/furniture for the same and the gate/beds, plus meals out (of which we have had quite a few this month!). Next month should be less spendy as we are out less and will have less to buy for the house.
Currently in agony with terrible period pains so am sat on sofa watching Greys rather than doing any sorting.
Have tried (unsuccessfully) to sell a bunch of baby clothes (clothes in general do not appear to sell well over here) and if not gone in a week will send to charity/nursery/friends as so much clutter. Am, however, keeping some back to have a patchwork quilt made so that I will always have that with me.2 -

I tend to do this by the binliner2 -
@HampshireH - yes, I think I will be giving away this week.
Spending is just not subsiding - DH taking the kids swimming today, we need to order new house sign (as we changed the name when we moved in) and bits and bobs. I am out for dinner tomorrow night as a friend is over. Hurry up 20th!!
Still suffering from awful period pains. Do wonder if a hysterectomy is the way to go (my mum had one for same reason)

Spending = just no point commenting! But we are almost at 20th now and DH made a sandwich for him to take to work today which is unheard of.
I am tired. I think I am going to give up alcohol for a while and see how that helps. I just feel meh all the time and have aged beyond belief. So last night was start of some self care - I even applied moisturiser and eye cream which I never do!
Need to start running tomorrow - should be done with this horrendous period by then (and really need to order some period pants) and am WFH so makes it easier to pop out.
I've started writing a book - a thriller - not told anyone IRL and wasn't going to post on here because if it's anything like any other thing I start I just won't finish it. Started on 14th - so I want to say that by 14 May next year it will be finished. Please can you hold me accountable?!3 -
Will do, love to read a thriller, the very best of luck

Did about 30 mins writing this morning whilst DC2 down. Has resulted in 2 small paragraphs. But it is a start. I feel like I have good ideas but no idea how to create enough content for a whole book and also, I am just not sure about my writing. DH says it sounds good when I read it to him but he is biased.1

Car insurance quote today - 224 up from 190 last year but not as bad as I was expecting. DH wanted to pay it today even though not due until 25th. At first I said no wait until friday so it can come out of next month's budget but he didn't really understand why. Then I thought well, we are so far over this month anyway, we may as well pay it now and then we start "clean" next month. Depending on what DH has spent without telling me (which I don't think is much - know he got £50 out when he went out with the lads but he still has 30 of that in his wallet (curry went on card but drinks afterwards and taxi) I think we may be able to save around £250 this month, which is a bonus because I didn't think we would save anything. That said, we do still have to get carpet and storage solutions for the playroom when painted but it shouldn't be too bad I don't think. Then there's interest on our savings of around 150 I think it might be - we do need to move these to a better paying account which we are looking into at present, but will keep some back as an emergency fund and for the architects fees.
Both WFH today. DC in nursery. Quiet week. No booze since saturday and have been sleeping MUCH better. We are due out with friends Sat night so debating driving rather than drinking as know that once people have had their first drink I won't be bothered anymore, it's just that first time you order where I really feel I want it.
DH has band tomorrow night (free bar petrol as they probs won't go for drinks after given we are meeting up with them and their other halves Sat night and the lads had a curry recently) and I am FTming my bessie from school. We have finished Ozark and have starting watching The Staircase - not sure DH too keen but I also have the new series of Law and Order SVU to watch - I do feel I need to do something other than TV but it is my way to relax and not think about anything! That said, I am intending to do some more work on my book when time/motivation allows.
Made a shopping list for friday shop. Isn't too bad this week but we do need things like foil. We have also discovered co-op popcorn and unicorn ice cream cones which is dangerous as they are LOVELY!
I have also shut down FB - felt it was getting too much of my time and also, it is not great as tend to compare my everyday with other people's showreels (esp as I don't really post on there now other than to advertise baby stuff but can get DH to do that instead) - feel this will give me more time in the day and make me feel less meh.

Gave away 3 large bags of baby clothes to charity - had been trying to sell as you know but either no interest or people not turning up. Cried. But at least someone should get good use out of them as they were pristine.
DH has now booked for 2 large waste bags to go 110 - not happy about that one! Really not going to be able to save much at all this month!
Architect now almost finished house drawings so they are being sent across tomorrow. We have an appointment to see her monday to go through brief and our new ideas so she can then get cracking on the concept drawings. Exciting though to see what we can possibly do. I know I shouldn't look back but annoyingly there are now a couple of houses coming to market which would have ticked the boxes for us after a complete absence pretty much the whole time we were looking. That said, 1 would have required a much higher mortgage than we have now and given current climate, perhaps it's better overall.
Got both DC today so in this morning as DC2 will need a nap and will probs head out this afternoon. Not sure where yet.
Decorator coming round tomorrow to give quote to do the DC's bedroom when we (hopefully) go away in october. He's someone I've used for a number of years and trust to leave in the house whilst we are away (we have done this before). In fact, years ago before DH we met online and almost went on a date but never did - I don't think we were suited but he is a nice chap. We didn't want to get it done until we knew what was happening with moving the stairs to floor 3 but we will know monday probably so should be fine to get done in october. Luckily, as long as DH stays in his job he gets a large retention bonus in dec which will pay for the holiday and the decorating.
Work is a bit meh. A new lady has started in our team who seems to be trying to take over the new stuff I've been asked to do. To be fair, she does have more experience in that area than me (a lot, as I have none!) but I got a bit railroaded on a call yesterday. Have spoken to my boss about it (who is also her boss) and it won't affect anything even if she does take over as there's another jurisdiction I can help so that's fine but we are going to split out the work for the moment. From this lady's linked in profile she has bounced around A LOT, so I am not even convinced she will stay.1
